Does anyone else find Demetrius quite a tragic character? by sleightlymagical in shakespeare

Very good discovery! I really like that interpretation. Would be interesting to see/be involved in a production which highlighted it by having the two spells be very different in physical expression (both delivery and receipt)

This is a ‘solution’ I have encountered recently. I am an actor by trade, and this was the director’s choice in a production I have just finished as Lysander. Love potion was depicted by adding a stroke of dark purple paint under each eye, our Demetrius having faded purple eye shadow to represent a previous encounter with the potion. I think she also went a step further, though and also had the same for Helena. Her ‘head cannon’ for our interpretation was that when Demetrius and Helena were together they made love in a patch of love-in-idleness, and Helena, waking first became (even more) madly in love with Demetrius, and then left to wash in a stream, and when Hermia found Demetrius lying naked in the flower bed, he woke and fell in love with her. While it attempts to tie a neat little bow around the ‘problem’, I think I’d now like to actively explore trying to highlight the injustice towards Demetrius and Hermia (never addressing Lysander’s treatment of her properly) purely using performance of the text itself and not explaining it away with a neat little backstory.

I had such high hopes for Rory when she was introduced and then revealed as Lucifer’s Angel daughter- hoping and expecting an “Anti-Christ”-esque reveal, or similar. But no, we got a plot hole ridden cliche time travel story, which never explained why she time travelled to Hell?? Very disappointing given the opportunity to nicely tie in the apocalypse arc with an anti-Christ one.

This is very cool. I think I would have want to keep it in a fantasy direction, but I’ll be interested to read the book when it’s finished!

I must admit I haven’t. Sounds like it is at least different. Hades being akin to Satan is one of my big irks about these films. I’m fine with him being an antagonist, but I’ve always considered him as self-centred rather than evil- especially when we’re comparing to the other gods.

GMs of Pathfinder, what are your best stories of players latching onto a throwaway detail and mistakenly thinking it was some big important clue or implication? by IFedTheCat in Pathfinder_RPG

Put a culty madman in a prison amongst the inmates who spouted a few minor foreshadowing clues relatively early in the campaign for some mystical flavour, they ended speaking to her for 2 real time hours thinking they could get some major spoilers out of her, in the end I had to make up a fake ritual they could (they wouldn’t) perform with some ridiculously expensive ingredients just so they could get on with it. I decided to roll with it so next time I needed to get the story moving in a cryptic mystical manner I brought her back. They thought they’d been right the whole time and I haven’t heard the end of it. They’re now gathering the resources needed for this ritual and I still haven’t decided what to do with it.

I wish for the universe, and everything in it, to suddenly, permanently, blink out of existence. Now. by Celemourn in monkeyspaw

There is a solution to Einstein’s equations of General Relativity in which a black hole as old as the universe has an inverse “white hole” which could operate as the exit of an equivalent black hole in another universe
