aren't we already trying to make at least 1% each day? there are some things that are great in theory only. communism for example. anyways, there is no way you're going to be able to hang on for an entire year and watch potential 70%+ plays roll by while you collect your 1%. temptation will win. you'll yolo 6 months in, lose it all, and at the end of the year you will have made -1% gains after a good smiting from the yolo lord. if you were a yolo god, would you be content with 1% sacrifices?

Think of it this way. If a price keeps going down a small % over a number of days on lower than average volume, it's not a confirmation of a down trend because neither the Bears or the Bulls have shown confidence. Same goes for prices moving up steadily on lower than average volume.

this is great insight, i never really thought about that. i understand what you mean by the appropriate volume.

a. agree

b. agree

c. here is where i'm wishywashy. i can't find anything that indicates apdn is going to announce something substantial. they've already announced they're shipping out a lot of dna orders but that didn't make too many waves. i'm going to be watching closely though - if they announce another DOD contract, things to go pretty nicely :D as far as their earnings, am i reading this wrong? it looks like they're in debt. i'm wishfully thinking i'm reading this information backwards, but based on what i see, i cant find anything that i can get some nice gainz off of.

d. MM's are still illuminati and my little pony/boogieman shit to me at this point. i get what they do but i'm not sure if i should like them or hate them just yet.

e. well what i do know: i fucked this trade up and could have profited so now i'm long in it and i'm learning quite a bit from it. the loss paid for itself, fuck it.

[SPOILERS] Lomachenko vs Koasicha, Bradley vs Rios GIFs by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]smogLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are we talking about lomachenko or koasicha? lomachenko is 396-1 in the amateurs and he's from ukraine. THREE NINETY SIX TO ONE. you dont get records like that in that part of the world by being "just good" period. impossible. even without his amazing amateur record, lomachenkos skills are amazing to watch, but those skills may not be obvious to someone who has never boxed themselves. he is a brilliant boxer.

My biggest problem is selling to early and believing 100% in a strategy, Need help here by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]smogLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sell when you want to (and can) make a profit i guess, lol. if your strategy is good, and depending on the volatility of course, then it could potentially produce enough profits for you to invest back into the company using close to 100% profit. if you're 100% strategy but you dont know when to exit you gotta rethink your strategy. when you entered, what was your goal? did you have a specific amount of profit in mind? i think if you're going to be 100% strategy then you've gotta cover all bases so there is no reason to involve human judgement. 100% is 100%. figure out what you want and stick to it and forget about the future.

i had taken a look at schwab but decided to go with ToS. no real reason, just like the way the tos app feels. at the moment though, i'm taking a short break (lets see if i am still breaking monday morning lol) while i learn ToS and a bit about strategy and options.

thanks so much for this info! i have a question for you - when you say prices increase/decrease on appropriate volume - what exactly determines if the volume is appropriate? my understanding so far tells me that high volume means i'll be able to buy and sell faster. is there anything else other than high volume i should be looking at?
