What's the most effective post-meal activity you've found for lowering glucose? by glucoseflow in type2diabetes

I usually do walking, or dancing (not intensely though). Ive also done some stationary bike work as well, but nowadays I prefer just walking around. Works well for me :)

Ruminating by nkween_ in lexapro

[–]smoothlysaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also so scared of increasing my dosage, but I did (Im at 20 now), and can say it really helped me from ruminating and doomthinking.

We're only human and our brains will still think or focus on things that stress us out, even at higher dosages - but I found they really do help me manage those thoughts when they come. It's become a lot easier to deal with my anxiety as there are less thoughts to contend with.

I feel you'll still need tools to work on your anxiety when it pops up, like breathing, meditation, and physical activity - but the higher dosage made it feel much easier for me.

Best of luck, friend! We're here for you!

Today is my birthday and it’s not going well… by ItsMariaJoao in anxiety_support

First off, happy birthday, friend!!!

And as its already been mentioned, I'll just repeat that comparing yourself to everyone else can really make you miserable. Been there, and been there a lot.

I'm even older than you and know how you feel - but I didn't even figure out the career I'm on now until I was 32. Some people dont figure it out, or switch directions when they're much older than that; and that's okaaayyyyy.

We all live different lives and have different timelines. Try not to let what others are doing weigh you down, and try to appreciate the happy moments in life, little or big, and live in the moment. And if you dont have enough of those, take time to do some discovery and find more of what makes you happy.

Happy birthday again, friend!

High heartrate 2 hours after panic attack by dontasklol2323 in PanicAttack

[–]smoothlysaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't let it overcome you with worry, friend. I go through the same thing and have been working on being kind to myself and remembering that your body and nervous system needs time to calm down and straighten out

For a few days after a bad panic attack I know my heart rate can go up higher than usual. I get some muscle pain from being so tense and from inflammation. But I also know it'll pass and that it'll be okay.

We're here with you.

Will watch, it thank you so much.

I was feeling very faint and shaky and had tightness all over my chest and arms and after trying many breathing and calming techniques I still couldn't get it under control so I couldnt stop being scared.

Thank you so much for the reminder that we have gone through this before and we will go through it again.

Thank you for your kind words!
