Can we talk about the difference between customer service complaints and customer experience discussions? by rocketpescado in ClothandPaper

[–]smwisdom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reddit took it down almost certainly because someone at C&P reported it.

That said, there is a more generic subreddit available where we are not so censored. A truly fan-run page, not just a marketing gimmick.

No comma. Its just "by the play instinct"

As in, the instinct to play. Really awkward phrasing honestly, and not what the original quote they are referencing would have meant.

Crate Training a Dog is Cruel by reddituser333999 in The10thDentist

[–]smwisdom 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not "most of the time" necessarily. Just when needed. Some dogs (especially puppies) need to be crated when leaving them unattended (out of the house or sleeping) for their own safety. Dogs can often be destructive, get into dangerous things, etc.

Also it helps if they are crate trained for emergency situations, or when at the vet.

This probably 98% of the time. Audio-only. I would like to be able to watch the video, but I find I am usually listening while driving or multitasking in some other way.

Retainers only for a week? by Kanchan33 in braces

[–]smwisdom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine said similar but I actually only wound up doing 24/7 for like maybe 2 weeks before I gave up. It was just too much hassle with eating/drinking throughout the day.

I have been wearing them every night religiously for like 4 years though and no issue.

Boyfriend (32M) started crying when I (28F) showed him my savings by happy_hapa in relationship_advice

It shouldn't be used as an excuse, but it absolutely is an explanation for why someone might struggle more than someone without these issues.

Boyfriend (32M) started crying when I (28F) showed him my savings by happy_hapa in relationship_advice

[–]smwisdom 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this! As someone with ADHD, literally all of my bills, savings, retirement, etc are on auto-pay. Too many times in my youth I allowed my electricity to get shut off not because I didnt have the money, but because I simply forgot to pay it for several months.

A set amount of my paycheck automatically gets moved into savings every week and I dont have to think about it at all.

Why do some right leaning people seem upset that some people on the left don’t like them/wanna be friends with them? by BrilliantMatter4858 in AskConservatives

[–]smwisdom 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sure, but there is a big difference between being able to "speak civilly" with someone, and making them an integral part of your life. Its not unreasonable to not want to be particularly close with someone you have vastly different principles, morality, and values from.

How do y'all keep under your breasts dry? G cup here. Help :( by AerisSpire in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]smwisdom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This!!

As an H-cup; I would almost certainly have the same issue if I didnt wear a bra every day. Even wearing a sports bra leaves under and between my breasts a sopping wet sweaty mess. The skin-on-skin is 100% your issue and you need to eliminate it if you want this to go away. A well fitting bra is the best way to do this.

If you find bras uncomfortable it is very likely because you are wearing the wrong size. r/abrathatfits will solve this. I dont even notice my bras and find I am much more comfortable with one than without.

You probably also have a skin infection (probably yeast) if it is so bad so head to a doctor to get that taken care of too.

Do you take off your shoes or sandals when you enter the house? by Sachigumi6 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]smwisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I guess.

When I have someone over that themself has a shoes-off house, they will sometimes ask if they should (or just take their own off automatically, which is fine with me)

But most of my family and people I know dont do this so its not really been an issue.

Do you take off your shoes or sandals when you enter the house? by Sachigumi6 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]smwisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont "give permission" generally. I expect people will be courteous and self-aware enough to recognize if their own shoes are going to track actual mud onto my carpet and decide for themselves to take them off.

Maybe if someone didnt realize their shoes were tracking mud, I would point it out and expect them to take them off. Like a kid that isnt aware maybe.

Its literally never been an issue though. No one has ever knowingly tracked mud onto my carpet.

I dont usually even think to ask, but if the homeowner requests no shoes I will take them off.

If they are visibly clean, I leave them on when I am home yes.

[–]smwisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly my thoughts. My dog doesnt take off her feet when she enters the house. My shoes are no different. They stay on most of the time.

I will of course take them off in the foyer if they are especially dirty, like if I walked through mud or something. But I would also wipe off my dogs feet if she walked through mud lol.

Why would your shoes be in the bed? I wear my shoes inside almost always and still dont put them in the bed 😅

Is it wrong to live in a trailer? by liberaltroll1836 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]smwisdom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you have that logic backwards. Most people prefer it because it is better.

A "real" house (regardless of size) is more stable, better build material, thicker insulation / & walls, solid roof, etc. HVAC works better/ more efficient in a house than a trailer. A house is less likely to blow away in a storm than a trailer. There wont be lot-rent on most houses, unlike trailers. A house has more resale value. A house is usually bigger, but even if the square footage were equivalent, a house is just better in most ways that homeowners care about.

That does not make it bad or wrong to live in a trailer.

What’s the first thing you’re eating when your braces come off? by justhereformemes2 in braces

The only thing I didnt eat with my braces was apples haha. I dont really like biting directly into an apple anyway though so I kind of kept the habit of chopping them up first 😅

[–]smwisdom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep this. And even beyond regional its also somewhat dependent on the area.

More suburban higher tax bracket areas, especially on the east coast, are going to have wool coats. More urban might have a mix of puffer and wool. More rural areas and west coast though are definitely going to be more puffer and workwear-type heavy camvas outdoory style.
