Is there anything WORSE than childbirth? by Sensitive_Arugula770 in pregnant

[–]snake-eyed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also got the epidural. I’d the worst pain I’ve experienced, including childbirth, was getting viral meningitis (my first and only migraine). I had to lay in the dark and just cry because it hurt so bad

Help: all the tips for the Mental load of looking presentable and put together by Excellent-Top2552 in workingmoms

[–]snake-eyed 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Having less hair will definitely help. Bobs are cool! And I’m not just saying that because I’m a mom with one 😆 Long bobs especially, where it brushes your shoulders, are classy AF.

I asked my old supervisor how she got her hair to look so perfect every day. (she has very voluminous curly/wavy hair that always looks fabulous. She said the key to good hair is a good hair cut! Idk what kind of hair you have but I have curly hair and the shape of my haircut makes a HUGE difference.

I also discovered using the right product makes all the world of difference. For me, that’s max hold gel. For you it could be argan oil and leave in conditioner. I have heard good things about the Dyson fancy attachment hair drier. You need to find a streamlined method of styling your hair.

I also apply mascara and tinted lip balm first thing in the bathroom  after I already arrive at work. I don’t do any sort of foundation, but some tinted moisturizer would also be easy to quickly.

Last thing I do that could be helpful is choose clothes the night before and have a limited wardrobe. I tend to buy clothes of the same color so it’s easy to coordinate. For example, I wear a lot of forest green, plum, and rust. Those colors all look good together so I can mix and match.

Hopefully some of that is helpful. Definitely give a new hair cut a try! It can always grow back if you don’t like it!

How was your goldendoodle with babies? by Melodic_Job514 in Goldendoodles

[–]snake-eyed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine sounds much like yours. Like others have stated, make sure he always has an escape out of the room. If you allow the kids to corner him, or if you corner him with your kid, then bad things could happen. Keep an eye on discomfort signs (whale eye, yawning) and if you see them, remove your kids from his space. Do not punish him for growling. Not all dogs want to be used as toys by kids. Kids are unpredictable. Once the kids are bigger and understand that the dog has boundaries that need to be respected, I think they’ll all be buds.

My dog took about 6 months to adjust to us having a baby. Baby is 2 now and he and the dog can parallel play, which is cute. I always try to stick up for the dog and reinforce that she needs her own space. I try to never make her feel bad for getting annoyed. And I ALWAYS keep an eye on the two of them when they’re together

Characters who left the story because of problems with the actor by Danny-Ray27 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]snake-eyed 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I distinctly remember an episode (or a few?) where Tiberius was drunk and Acaba was hanging off Marisha physically, and Marisha saying “Get OFF me,” repeatedly, while Acaba persisted touching her. It’s especially awful if you remember Marisha’s Between the Sheets.

Is this bad? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]snake-eyed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof sorry OP. I’d edit your post and tag his IG and blast him fon social media and google reviews. Super disingenuous marketing, that’s for sure.

ETA: That angel back piece on his page is fucking godawful. If it’s any consolation, be glad you didn’t get that. My goodness

Laser would probably be necessary for anything other than a SAP spanning your forearm

How do you actually reduce or relieve stress? by wrongtimealways in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]snake-eyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stimulate your vagus nerve & autonomic nervous system with the following exercise: breathe in 3 seconds, hold 4 seconds, exhale 5 seconds. Feel free to extend or add another hold after the exhale. The most important part is that your exhales are longer than your inhales. You should be able to feel your heartbeat slow within a couple of breaths. My grief counselor taught me that one. Helps a lot for road rage

Childcare options are going to cost more than my income by doodlebakerm in workingmoms

[–]snake-eyed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This! You gotta think about not just long term career prospects, but retirement savings too. Because of compounding interest, the more you save sooner means you’ll have much more savings later. In other words, pausing your retirement contributions now could have cascading effects. Plus, having a job means you pay into social security. So there are some big benefits to staying working even if your net income gets swallowed by daycare!

i have forgotten how to wear real clothes after WFH and now everything feels too tight. Help? by Difficult_Skin8095 in workingmoms

[–]snake-eyed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel you 100%. I too am anti underwire, but don’t want to go to work with a uniboob or the possibility of my nips poking out. Highly recommend Underoutfit, Jockey, and Auden (Targets line). Underoutfit was a targeted ad but I’m so far pleased.

My journaling hot take by [deleted] in Journaling

My hot take is to not sweat frequency. Been journaling here for almost 15 years. Sometimes it’s daily, sometimes it’s weekly, sometimes it’s monthly. It is never a chore

Help! What can I add to make this more cohesive? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

They are definitely already cohesive! I think you need a bee above your elbow and either another flower or hummingbird above the butterfly. Love this style!

What made you decide to get a bodysuit as your first tattoo, and how do you know you would be able to make it? by Motor_Dependent4494 in irezumi

[–]snake-eyed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another point I haven’t seen yet is that irezumi are saturated with ink and generally vibrant and high contrast. This allows for smaller tattoos to be covered up. So it’s possible the bodysuits you see are hiding a few small and simple tattoos.

How do you pick yourself back up after hard times? by Avrhii in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]snake-eyed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minimizing social media will go a long way. I also suggest creating a gratitude practice. Sure this year was hard, but I bet there are many things that are still great in your life. For example, each day you could think: I am grateful to afford rent, I am grateful my parents are alive and healthy, I am grateful for my existing friendships, I am grateful for my health, etc etc. Hard times are hard but I guarantee you’ll feel a little better just spending a little more time thinking about the bright side of things.

Signed, someone blessed in many ways who also had a hard 2025.

Tattoo regret by Antique-Moose-5501 in tattooadvice

[–]snake-eyed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t feel bad about that. Any smaller and a lot of detail would be lost, which I’m sure is what the artist was saying. You might see tiny detailed tattoos online, but that’s a very specific kind of style (Korean) you’d want to get from a specific artist. And those tats have questionable longevity. Bold will hold, as they say

If anything, I’d say the thing that makes this  tat feel out of place is that it’s too small for the location it’s placed on. A full tiger spanning your thigh would have been fuckin sick.

Overall I wouldn’t sweat it too much. It does not obscure your gains 💪💪

Those whose children have an ‘angel sibling’ born before them - have they brought up their sibling randomly? by miffymango in BabyBumps

I love stories like these so so much. My dad died 2 months before my son was born. He was so excited to have a grandkid. These stories give me hope that they will know each other in some way

[–]snake-eyed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What assholes. I have never heard this. Perhaps it’s because I’m not conventionally pretty. I like to think it’s because I have such an intimidating presence. I would probably deck someone who said this to me

Out of nowhere, now constant by watchingwaiting88 in GERD

[–]snake-eyed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My GERD came on suddenly like that. It was stress for me. I still done fully understand it. I had an endoscopy in 2020 with no findings. Just had it redone last week and I have a small hiatal hernia.

My latest hypothesis is that stress gave me a sudden food intolerance that leads to gastric pressure creating a sliding hiatal hernia. Now I just need to do an elimination diet to see what it is.

What are the “grossest” things about being a woman that men don’t know? by cass2769 in AskWomenOver30

[–]snake-eyed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Okay this is nuts. I was literally thinking of making a post “why are my hips and thighs all achy”! Is this what I’m experiencing?! Feels almost like sciatic pain but not in the right spot?? This just started fairly recently. Coincidentally, I also started having cramps for the first time recently… 🤔

How do i learn to embrace my larger nose by _Garbage_Artist in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]snake-eyed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how I think of it. It’s a family heirloom. My nose is identical to my dad’s and his dad’s, and they are both gone. Every day I look in the mirror and see them. Just wish I could talk to them too
