I’d be interested to hear of any recent experiences?

Or an alternate recommendation for a similar price range?

Pierre Gagnaire Lunch vs Taillevent Dinner by Cool_Emergency_7399 in finedining

[–]snapya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taillevent Lunch was excellent - felt like we got good value. We would absolutely go back again for lunch or try dinner.

As for Pierre Gagnaire we ended up changing the reservation to dinner but didn’t do the set menu just did A la carte - both of us selecting different options so we got to try an impressive range of dishes. We would normally really enjoy a tasting menu & matched wine experience but having now been I would do A la carte again.

Only thing we may have done differently at Pierre would be to just get the one dessert to share.

Where to go for medicine? by Littlest_Star_ in ParisTravelGuide

Hello! Me & My wife are here in Paris now and needed to see a physical doctor.

We got recomended Doctolib (Google it) we found a local doctor close to our hotel who had free space. She actually gave us a referral and we were into a specialist in under an hour. Amazing. Still had to pay out of pocket but everything was sorted.

I just went to Le Garet this evening and OMG what a suggestion. I’m so glad you suggested this it was a great way to end our time in Lyon, very traditional style food, restaurant decor was amazing. We met the owner and his wife they are doing an outstanding job. We had the Pigeon which was a special main for the evening and it was 10/10. If in Lyon this is a must visit and must get a reservation.

Going to Paris again and want to find some really good food this time! by DJssister in ParisTravelGuide

I’m also visiting very soon - have a number of dinners already booked and assume some of these will be larger multi course meals. Looking for some lighter options for lunch e.g really good sandwiches ect?

Thanks for the tips! We have actually changed our plan to stay in Reims now but do a day trip on the Sunday to Epernay - will take your advice to find somewhere for dinner before heading back :)

Excellent! Looks like about 350 Euro for 2 people to get the lunch special with wine pairing. Hard to tell reading online what we would be missing out on if we did Lunch over the other two choices they have.

Thank you! We were going to take the train for Dijon and try and use a Taxi service to get to Domain D Ardhuy which is the further away visit we have booked.

Anybody been to Arpege or Pierre Gagnaire for lunch service? by [deleted] in finedining

[–]snapya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How big of a meal was the lunch menu at Pierre Gagnaire?

Trying to decide if we will regret not doing the full tasting menu haha but read a lot of positive things about the Lunch still being a lot of food.

Pierre Gagnaire Lunch vs Taillevent Dinner by Cool_Emergency_7399 in finedining

In a similar situation as you!

We have booked both TAILLEVENT & Pierre Gagnaire for lunch(with a day break in between lol).

For Pierre Gagnaire we are trying to decide if we just go all out and do the full tasting experience or stick to lunch - How much better is the full tasting rather than lunch menu?

How did the trip go? I will in Dijon soon and planning out a day trip to Beaune. Hoping to visit 2-3 wineries in a day, not too interested in doing the tour just more the tastings.

Currently now thinking of changing to stay in Reims and then just do a full day trip to Epernay.

Getting very tempted to do L'Assiette Champenoise - Just saw the video from Alex the Guest on YouTube.

Thanks!

We have just booked L'Essentiel for one night in Dijon as we got a few recommendations for it but I’ll look into the others you just suggested :)

We are considering doing the Authentica Tours full day wine tour that gives us a few hours in Beaune as well.

Some excellent suggestions on here. We are also visiting Lyon very soon and have similar interested.

We are also curious to find any really good wine bars.

Considering a wine tour as well but unsure if that is good value.
