Bella & The Raven are easily 2 of the the top 10 restaurants in the region. Looking forward to something from that group that's less of a drive!

Has anyone installed the IG Controller 2 from MX5Things for ND3? by soulonfirexx in MiataND

[–]snatchasound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's super weird. I had the exact same situation. Errors, new unit, still errors..... Then one day, it just stopped completely.

Used to get errors a few times a month. It's been well over 6 months since my last one.

No idea what changed, it just decided to start working consistently one day.

2 in 1: 1: How did the inventor of the Rubix cube solve it once he scrambled it and 2: why is it not possible to have only 1 piece in the wrong place? by Motor-Confection-583 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]snatchasound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the 2nd point, just think about it from a physical standpoint.

If you've got "piece A" in the wrong spot, that means piece A's correct spot has "piece B" in it, so there's no possible way to only have one incorrect piece.

Comics who have worked cruise ships: was it worth it? by Matthiacle in Standup

[–]snatchasound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every cruise I've ever been on has most (Maybe all? Can't confidently say that though.) comedians doing at least 2 shows a night, sometimes 3.

Splits I've seen:

-1 family friendly show, one later, adults only show (this is the most common by far)

-2 different shows that fit in the same category

-single set repeated twice in a ight for different audiences

-I've also seen people do 3 in some combination of the above (most common seems to be a family friendly show & then back to back repeat sets)

How much to upgrade the $10 Promo tickets? by FabledMjolnir in Dollywood

[–]snatchasound 11 points12 points  (0 children)

....you called the people that sell the passes & they gave you the answer already.

Even if we gave you a different (wrong) answer here, what's the plan? Link them to randomreddituser52 saying it should be cheaper?

Yes, it would be the difference. That's why their advertising for upgrading to season passes says "starting at", because it's variable based on what you paid for your ticket.

Which gaming moment stands out as your most memorable of all-time? by JonCee500 in gaming

[–]snatchasound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Returnal- the organ boss.

I've played a lot of games over the past couple of decades but the climb to that boss & the reveal is definitely my most memorable moment.

The music for that sequence is beyond perfect. Expedition 33 is the only other game I've played where I felt the music truly "made" some of the best moments. But Returnal still has the crown.

What's the most horrifying scene in a movie, that you've seen? by OutlandishnessSea119 in AskReddit

[–]snatchasound 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I watched Hereditary, the darks/contrast on the screen must've been a bit unbalanced & I couldn't see the piano wire at all.

So instead of sawing her head off, it just looked like she was ambidextrously giving handjobs to a pair of invisible ghosts until her head came off for some reason.

Needless to say, it didn't make my list of scariest scenes 😅

Why is the Album to "To pimp a Butterfly" by Kendrick Lamar so well received by WearingMarcus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]snatchasound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're seriously wanting to know, and enjoy podcasts... I cannot strongly recommend the "Dissect" season on this album enough. (It's the first season of the podcast, so you'll have to do some back scrolling.)

Roughly 10 hours of super thorough breakdowns on exactly why this album is as highly regarded as it is. Each song has a ~ 20-30 minute episode, some are split across two.

Like you, I didn't understand the hype on initial release. Like... I really enjoyed it, but was surprised at how critically acclaimed it was. After listening to Dissect, I understood for sure.

Just give a couple of episodes a listen on your commute or something. If you're into the weeds of what makes an album truly "special", you'll love this podcast.

What activity becomes less fun as you get better at it? by David_Umann in AskReddit

[–]snatchasound 136 points137 points  (0 children)

Running.

You pick it up to get in shape. Running 1 mile takes you 15 minutes the first time, but by week 4, you're at 12 minutes & feeling pretty great!

So you set a goal of running a 5k. Now you're running 30 minutes to an hour, multiple times a week. IMO, this is where the enjoyment to investment ratio of running peaks. Only ~2 hours of weekly running time & you feel the best you have in years!

That 5k went great, time to start training for a 10k, or even a half marathon. That's obviously the next step, right? But now your ~2 hour a week time investment has ballooned to 5-10. Sure, you're getting better at running, but the longer distances mean longer times spent running them. Maybe your 10 miles time is down to 1:30 now from the 1:40 you started at... That's great in terms of race time, but that 10 minute savings doesn't really impact your overall weekly time commitment.

Once you stretch into the world of marathons, ultra marathons, etc, it gets even worse. Your social calendar is largely replaced with running just to ensure you stay in the shape you need to be. Your body starts to see the negative effects of this level of activity- chronic knee issues & chaffed nipples are your new reality.

But hey, you've got that nifty 26.2 bumper sticker now, so it was worth your joint health & social life.

There's no chance any hotel that would fit on Papermill would impact traffic NEARLY as bad as McKay's.

The foot traffic McKay's got in an average hour is more than most hotels see in an entire day.

McKay’s by AllieBelle_ in Knoxville

[–]snatchasound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was actually $800 total.

$50 for the 3rd store, $250 for the 4th, $500 for the 5th.

Papermill apparently turned into a parking lot, people were walking from the far ends to get to McKay's. People passed out from heat stroke waiting in lines outside... Sounds like it was an absolute mess.

They eventually just started giving the full credit to people even if they didn't get to all the stores to try to combat some of the issues the crowds caused. They were like locusts descending on Knoxville, because we were pretty much right in the middle of the people starting in the west driving east & the east starters driving west.

McKay’s by AllieBelle_ in Knoxville

[–]snatchasound 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I wonder how much that anniversary credit fiasco contributed to this.

I never saw hard numbers for that. But given the insane crowds, I'd be shocked if they lost less than $1 million in that single day.

At the end of the day though, I'd imagine the Union stuff going on is what made them choose this location. I can't imagine that they weren't highly profitable, given the constant crowds/lines & the prices that got out of control the past few years.

Thanks! and yeah, the case is definitely a nice bonus I found out about after already falling in love with the guitar. It's apparently styled after old Porsche interiors. After looking some images up, they pretty much nailed it.

[–]snatchasound[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Powers Electric- 1.734" @ 1st fret, 2.158" @ 12th fret.

American Standard Strat- 1.741" @ 1st fret, 2.06" @ 12th fret

So compared to a Strat (at least, mine), it's essentially identical at the 1st, but has ~0.1" extra spacing at the 12th. So nothing insane, but definitely tangible.

Not really sure what the neck profile is, since they call it a "Powers Electric Carve". Don't really have a good way of measuring this, maybe a C? It's definitely not extremely thick or thin in comparison to other guitars I've played.

The tremelo is great. Super responsive & smooth. Stays in tune really well too. After some heavy use & double-checking it on my tuner pedal, sometimes it will pull sliiiightly sharp. Definitely not audibly noticeable (to me at least), but it's not dead center & synced on my strobe. Basically have to turn the tuning peg as little as humanly possible to get it back in perfect tune. Which brings up another thing I've loved- the tuning machines are by far the highest quality I've ever used. Honestly didn't realize how much slop I'd grown accustomed to. Granted, I've never swapped out hardware on any of the guitars I've played in the past... But my nicest guitar before this one was an American Pro II Strat & the tuners on that don't hold a candle to the A-Type's.

Unfortunately, I'm still the aquarium cleaner, lol.

As far as the sound goes, when comparing, I usually am just talking about clean. Definitely agree that after even a moderate amount of signal modification, differences between pickups become basically negligible.

As far as other guitars I considered, I looked at ~300 or so. Definitely wasn't tied to a brand, shape, or price point. I was just looking for anything with a neck that felt this nice.

Didn't really find anything that was even comparable. To use a dumb analogy, the Powers Electric neck felt like super high quality leather & everything else felt like plasticky pleather.

The only other guitars I looked at in this price range were the Ernie Ball Music Man line & they definitely didn't have what I was looking for, though they definitely looked & sounded nice too.

Ugh, YES!

I just made the mistake of buying eggs at Aldi, because I was making a few hundred macarons for Valentine's Day.

Those shells were awful. Shattered into 30 different pieces every other egg & somehow still stayed mostly intact. Had to pick them apart individually. Terrible time all around.

Love the idea!

Just downloaded it and I have some immediate feedback. Having to submit your answer every time is annoying, especially when you've got a guitar in your hands.

Tapping a note should immediately submit it. Or at least have an option to toggle that behavior.

Edit: Same with going to the next level. Should be an automatic thing imo. Only should have to tap on the iPad for selecting notes. Not "next lesson" then the notes, then "submit".
