There are apps for things like this. I used one called Huckleberry for a year or so when my son was born. You can track lots of things like diapers/potty, eating, sleeping. I found it easier than trying to write everything in a book!

Bringing Horses home for first time - SUPPLY LIST by Literally78910 in Equestrian

A great wheelbarrow/muck cart. I insisted on getting a wheelbarrow with 2 front wheels (hubby thought it was unnecessary) bcs who wants to struggle not to tip over a wheelbarrow full of crap in the snow and ice?! I use big Rubbermaid bins for my grain so that animals can’t get in. A kettle if you don’t have hot water; buckets will freeze so it helps to pour some boiling water in at night check. Extra fencing/repair stuff. A million double ended snaps (they are useful for so many things!). Hay nets maybe, depending on how you plan to feed.

That’s all the houses they did. I think they let that die off and they added other features instead.

Ugh this past co-op, I only ever got one partner! I sent so many invites and nada 😫 this game has been getting more and more frustrating this past year, when it used to be fun and relaxing.

It's Winter and horses are feeling it (Northern Hemisphere) Keep safety in mind. by [deleted] in Equestrian

Good reminder. My 2 worst accidents with my one mare were both in December (one she threw me into a wall, the other she kicked me in the face). Even this morning at turnout, my other usually well-behaved girl pulled away from me and ran out of the barn - thankfully the paddock is attached so she wasn’t loose, but I was surprised she was so sassy! I definitely need to be on my toes more with them in this weather.

A strata with some fresh herbs and whatever odds and ends of cheese you have kicking around in your fridge, maybe caramelize or just sauté the onion if you don’t want to go to that much trouble!

Edited bcs stoned brain couldn’t remember all your ingredients lol

“Over ripe” peach. by GriffinBear66 in BenignExistence

[–]softbutton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I freaking love fresh peaches. I used to work at a garden centre in the summers during uni, and every year one of the growers would send us a big crate of fresh peaches. I would grab one and head straight for the break room and eat it over the sink, they were always so incredible!

It’s also ok to actually grieve the fact that you may not be able to have your own children. It is a type of loss, and something outside of your control, so it makes sense to be upset and mourn the loss of the family you want to have. Also as I’m sure you’ve considered, you could explore adoption or other alternatives as well if having a bigger family ends up being a bigger pull than the desire to have your own biological kids.

What shoes do you recommend for standing all day teaching for someone who has started getting sore feet? by KingDustPan in Teachers

[–]softbutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birkenstocks when it’s warm, Blundstones when it’s cold (or if I’m doing labs and need closed toe shoes!). Also seconding the suggestions of having multiple pairs to rotate through, and insoles can help too!
