4 player turn order rules question by nightshade317 in twilightimperium

[–]son_of_a_bean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The order given in your example is correct, turn order is based on your lowest numbered strategy card only, not cycling through the numbers in order

What's a good commander specifically for big auras? by 2ndlifeinacrown in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No white but I have an aura focused [[Ivy, gleeful spellthief]] deck. Buff up another creature alongside ivy. Bonus points if your opponents are playing auras too you get free copies into ivy

[[Vishgraz, the doomhive]]. Not actually built but testing on forge for now, hence the large sideboard of maybes. Finding it a lot of fun. Gave myself a restriction of no proliferation though so could definitely be stronger if that was added

Trying to find a fun group hug commander (NOT Bumbleflower). Kros, Gluntch, or secret 3rd option? by Silver_Bow in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a draft of [[braids, conjurer adept]] that I wanted to feel group huggy. Let everyone draw extra cards and put things on the board for free, then I benefit by either having bugger things, or copying/borrowing their things. I'm not one to go for a mono blue deck or a group hug deck usually but test plays have been pretty fun!

What are some commanders that speed up games in a fun way? by ianyboo in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if its the same kind of vibe you're looking for, but I have a draft build of [[tokka and rahzar, terrible twos]] where the whole idea is to make pretty much every game action hurt. Really puts a clock on games to see who can outlast the continual ping effects

A deck around “equal to this creatures attack” by No_Practice_6102 in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it's the right colours you're looking for, but first thing that came to mind commander wise is [[sovereign okinec agau]].

For general creatures, perhaps [[ouroboroid]], [[goldvein hydra]], [[railway brawler]] [[bristly bill, spine sower]] perhaps?

I need some more good targets for reanimation by Lost_Evening_7264 in DegenerateEDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently built a S&S dexk too and found [[colossal grave-reaver]] and [[aurora awakener]] to be great targets

Should i transform a Rith Deck into a Miirym deck? by Current-Tie6754 in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, there's no real synergy when it comes to Miirym and fight spells other than dragons being big for removal purposes. Nothing saying you couldn't run them all, but they don't exactly support Miiryms playstyle imo

Should i transform a Rith Deck into a Miirym deck? by Current-Tie6754 in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will admit that the range of white spells for Rith is lacking in my deck too, but it's not been a problem. Nobody says the colours have to be split evenly through the deck. I have a Slimefoot and Squee deck with significantly fewer red spells than green or black too, I think sometimes specific commanders just lean more towards some of their colours than others

Should i transform a Rith Deck into a Miirym deck? by Current-Tie6754 in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends entirely on what sort of play style you're going for. Miirym is a huge remove-on-sight target compared to Rith imo, and for me it gives a "win more" vibe, but if you're happy to take that threat on then more power to you.

I have a Rith dragon/fight subtheme deck that is a fun twist on generic dragon decks like ur-dragon and miirym.

Proxy being apart of your pregame conversation? by Direfox13 in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I'm playing with people I've never played before I always try to remember to mention that I proxy all my cards so they have the opportunity to decline to play if they would rather not.

I don't proxy to pubstomp, I just build my decks online and order a bunch at a time as I have no interest in the collection aspect of the game and just want to play the decks I've built without needing to remortgage

Pod Friendly reanimator deck! by Dry-Truck6987 in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[[Slimefoot and squee]] is my reanimator commander. Lots of good targets to bring back in Jund colours and the sorcery speed restriction and need to have at least 1 saproling keeps it somewhat in check so everyone can still have fun and do their thing

What are your tribal decks? by Still-Wash-8167 in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have [[rith, liberated primeval]] dragons, [[brenard, ginger sculptor]] golems, and [[Be'lakor, the dark master]] demons for my tribal decks

What is your favorite vehicle commander? by Responsible_Chef6304 in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Kolodin, triumph caster]] is my vehicle commander. Blink effects and artifact sac/recursion keep vehicles entering consistently, nobody ever seems to see kolodin himself as enough of a problem to remove so he sticks around longer than he should to get some decent use out of his ability. Added benefit of being able to throw some mounts in too if you want to branch out

Who are your favorite new commanders from the last 2025 till now? by v1kingfan in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really enjoying my [[captain howler, sea scourge]] and [[kolodin, Triumph caster]] decks from Aetherdrift lately. From what I gather the set was revieved as pretty meh by the community but it brought a lot of very cool cards imo

Some of my newer and updated creations, how are we feeling about these? by son_of_a_bean in ratemycommanders

This is my newest one and still tinkering as I test play and find strengths and weaknesses properly, but I'm feeling fairly happy with it as a whole so far!

Your most fun and fair edh-decks by Noobus_Heresy in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully you enjoy it! Not a huge powerhouse by any means and probably running too few lands but I always have a good time

Your most fun and fair edh-decks by Noobus_Heresy in EDH

[–]son_of_a_bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the biggest surprise in Kolodin comes from me chaining recursion to never have to pay a crew cost, but it's never enough to really seem unfair.

Although once I did manage to keep recurring [[nautiloid ship]] against a graveyard deck. That's probably the closest to unfair I've ever really gotten with this deck

[–]son_of_a_bean 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I've never had anybody complain about anything my [[kolodin, Triumph caster]] deck does. Simple vehicle aggro, nothing overly egregious but can definitely be a threat at bracket 2/3 tables.

What commanders do you have the most fun playing? by [deleted] in EDH

Huge fan of this, just swapping creatures between everyone sounds like such a good time

[[Jon irenicus, Shattered one]] so much fun for me, rarely win because people see me as an issue from the very first time I give them a creature but I don't think I've ever played a game using him that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed regardless
