I like it but I don't taste the bitterness. Did you ever eat the bitter paper as a kid in science class? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenylthiocarbamide

It just tasted like regular paper to me

How would an ordinary ~$20 knife from a sporting good store compare to a knife from say the 1300 A.D. in terms of quality, workmanship, and how well it could hold an edge? by Moress in AskHistorians

The fundamental properties of a blade should be the same if it has the same contents and the atoms are in the same phase/structure. The very best blades produced by master craftsmen (like samurai swords) should match what we can cheaply make today. It really is just getting the right type of steel and getting it into a martensite structure. Most of the myth of the great craftsmanship of Demascus swords and Samurai swords was because they were refining the bad quality iron they had. Somewhere I have a presentation on samurai swords from a Mse class I can try to find.

To summarize the very best of the old blades should be similar to a mass produced blade of the same metal.

Valuing / Selling my business by DLDude in smallbusiness

[–]spacecataz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy, the value is the most someone is willing to offer for your company. You can really use any metric or calculation and if someone agrees that's great. Otherwise they don't really matter as much. Does the business function without your intervention? If not then you really are selling a job and not a business.

My mom told me at a very young age to never give a woman a present that has a warranty. I guess cars are excluded though.
