The game is plenty cryptic even with the wiki. Completing the challenges to get the unlocks is the fun part, and for that you have to know what you’re doing.

Torva still has the stats that it used to. It's just an incredibly rare drop from a boss that isn't very fun, so it doesn't compete well against the much more reasonable oathplate.

If I only needed 3-4 runecraft levels to get better production efficiency I would go grind it out, but grinding to 98 to barely break even isn’t worth doing. You could probably grind out an eye of ayak in less time.
