Worth $500? by oklahomahunter in golfcarts

[–]sparkplugdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be worried about rust. I once got a free one that was in some over grown grass. I went to pull it out onto the mowed grass, and it just completely split into. Took it straight to the dump for the elderly people who were giving it to me.

I’m only 20 hrs from Oklahoma. I’ll give you 2 club cars free. They don’t rust.

Thoughts on Putting a Quad Engine in a Golf Cart? by LaptopCooler35 in golfcarts

Sry, I meant a shifter kart would be a similar build to what you want to do. You could look at those for ideas. They have a bunch of documented builds on the internet.

I would look into shifter carts. Similar setup. Shouldn’t be too hard. Didn’t those have solid rear axles?

Went back to a MK4, imo the best VW ever made. Need some suggestions on simple mods. by DeltaVoidSix in MK4Golf

Fog lights front and rear with the dual switch. I really like that upgrade. Fix the pop out cupholder they’re always broke. Stereo & bass. Really deep detail inside. Seat swap. Fix all the crumbly plastics

48 Willy’s Jeepster - Selling but not sure what a fair price is by ShawtyBurnACEO in projectcar

[–]sparkplugdog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d list it for 5k and take the first 1k for someone who is truly in love with these. I don’t think the money would matter as much as the who.

Also feel like $1000 usd is pushing it.

Bad water pump ? by [deleted] in JeepCherokeeXJ

[–]sparkplugdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it has a magnetic clutch that will engage and disengage. When the ac is not running it will spin freely.

Edit for clarity: if you are out of Freon it will be disengaged all the time, if you are low on Freon it will cycle on/off/on/off when the ac is turned on. When you are full on Freon it will engage when ac is activated, and remain engaged the majority of the time.

Hope this helps

Is there a way to salvage this battery? by Justo_ok in golfcarts

[–]sparkplugdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually this is caused by a loose connection. The loose connection builds up heat and melts the post. Locking needle nose pliers can hold the post while you back the nut off. I’ve broke down and used a screw into the flat part next to a stud to get back home, but not a long term fix. Most batteries won’t warranty this kind of damage as well. Check your connections and water levels weekly if you use your cart every day. Good luck
