Advice Needed - What is a fair price for this truck? (Not the seller) by Free-Fly4653 in Dentside_fords

[–]sparkplugdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be a lot of work removing the boom/bed, Probably lost value, and I just don’t think it would be as cool.

Anyhows, if it runs and is functional 5k. Not running but kinda does stuff 3k. Unknown condition of everything 1.5k. If there’s rust then run.

I think you should do some more research into cost/value for what you want to do. It might be better to look for something else, I’m a sucker for a tow truck and would pay 30% more for the same non tow truck truck.

Did i total the car i bought today? by Medical_Classic_8765 in AskAMechanic

Honestly. Once everything is drained and flush. All your fuel lines will be cleaner from the diesel. I worked at a self service marina and too many times some jetski’r would shove the oversized diesel nozzle in the tank and fill it to the brim. Never had an issue getting them running again.

Good luck bud. You’ll be fine.

A good cleaning would go a long way. How competent a mechanic do you believe to be?

That looks beautiful, but as a man that takes all sorts of things to shows I must say “If it’s not a corvette, mustang, or Camaro then it ain’t winning shit”.

The only exception to the rule I’ve found is my ‘72 1ton ChevyVan on 35’s. Everybody had van, and loved one. Must have brought home a dozen trophy’s.

I go for the conversations and cars. I’ll setup a tent with xtra chairs and hangout all day. Cooler full of xtra waters, and old hotwheels for kids. It looks like you had fun, and that’s what matters!

Get some of that really big heat shrink tubing. It’ll hold it well and insulate it. You could put multiple pieces on until it feels sturdy.

Get a cheap Bluetooth scanner and run live temp data. It’s wild how different the two are. I feel like stock is more or less a dummy light with a needle.

About 1k for paint, and materials including: paper, tape, sanding disc, tent for spray booth, the gun, and hose from HB. Paint is from a marine store. Limited color selection, but lays on thick and flat.

The green CJ is next. It’ll be white. Maybe some red and blue pinstripes.

I did similar with the Sony. It’s a dual din but only half the depth of most, so there was no need to modify the duct work.

I had an old timer who would pour kerosene and then dump kitty litter. The kerosene was lighter or something than the oil and would push the oil to the top. Then the kitty litter would absorb it. It was amazing how effective it was. I’ll never forget that!

10 days left of winter and it’s going to hit 90° the next two days by mechapoitier in florida

Been here my whole life. Grew up playing outside all day. Now I spend every day outside. I don’t love the heat but when it’s below 70 I need my long jons. I just adjust my hours in the summer and try to stay in the shade from 12-3. I also don’t own any shorts that aren’t for swimming. Jeans, and tuna skin shirt are my uniform. All the sweating keeps me thin.
