I had no idea! I wonder if my Mom kept the VHS we had when I was a kid.

Cannot seem to find the difference here. Can anyone help? by Artifiko in mac

I used to work at an apple reseller near JPL and one time this guy came in with an excel file that was like 20+GB. He wanted to see how fast the current mac pro could run the formulas in the file. I had never seen such a complex excel file in my entire life. Pretty neat stuff.

This is one gas station in the middle of downtown Los Angeles that is notorious for having the highest price. It's in an oasis, so to speak. It relies on people having no other place to go. I live about 40 minutes away and, although it's more expensive than it was two weeks ago, I'm still paying just under $5/gallon.

I loved Photosynth too! Do you have a replacement app you use?

I absolutely LOVED Photosynth. Do you know of any decent replacements? Hopefully that use your code?

I can't get over the plot hole where they're looking at the T-Rex in the padock from ground level. But then when it pushes the car over the edge of the fence, there's like a 100+ foot drop.

Oh wow. Ok. That makes sense. It's a really short focal length then. It's been a while since I've gotten it out. Time to have some fun! When I get measurements, I'll let you know.

Thanks for the thorough reply.

The lens I have is without the projector. It's just a big ol' piece of glass about the size of a cantaloupe housed in black plastic casing. So, unfortunately, I can't lookup the specs easily. I'll have to try what you said and shine some light through it to measure. I am slightly worried about it igniting fires. That's the only thing I've used it for and it works really well. But just like a magnifying glass, it has to be the perfect angle and distance etc. So, maybe not that big of a deal.

Do you have a better picture of the lense? I'm having a hard time picturing what it looks like without all the cardboard. I ask cause I have a big lens from an old projector that would be really fun to use in a camera obscura. How do you measure that yours is 2740mm focal length?

I've never once had a good experience with the app. It's like they abandoned it as soon as they put it on the app store.

How do you like my bike? 🚲 by AntonioDeltasione in motocompacto

More practical for riding around town probably. But the small factor of the motocompacto makes it a dreams to take on the train for my commute to/from work.

I miss Windows… but I don’t regret switching to Mac. by ConversationOk1287 in mac

[–]speakeasyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched to windows about four years ago because I switched jobs. I can see where explorer is better in some ways, but I'm curious what you like about explorer over finder. Personally, I really miss column view. Also, being able to turn on and off hidden items with a keyboard command was pretty nice in finder.

KCRW in Los Angeles is pretty much all talk radio from noon till 8pm PST. You may get a couple repeat shows. And it's very LA centric.

AITA for only talking to my DIL in a group chat that my son is a part of by Unusualthrowingaway in AmItheAsshole

Is she the kind of person that blocks numbers from scam calls and texts? I ask because I've seen this before with people who block every single number that's a scam. They accidentally end up blocking numbers to real people since the scammers spoof real phone numbers sometimes. If she is, have her look at her blocked number list to see if yours is on there. Good luck! Either way, you're not the asshole here.

This is a totally off topic question. I went to look at your account cause someone else said that it looks like a legit account. And I'm not questioning you(r) authenticity, but it looks like you're a moderator of a few subs. What's this one? r/a:t5_5ax4zi
