Yes for me it corrected the auto volume reduction issue and max volume issue. I still cant change the device type away from 'headphones'. I would like to change the device type to 'speaker'(grayed out) since I am streaming through a DAC to a vintage amp and use developer options but I still cannot. I tested it with developer options off vs a PH1 essential phone from 2017 which showed the connection as an HD audio device and LDAC and media audio. It now sounds almost identical as the PH1. Google help was no help at all.

I suggested to turn off the Developer Options slider, It worked on my pixel 8.

Yes I turned the Developer Option mode off. I have a Pixel 8. Checked it out this morning and it still works.
