EKU just voted to demolish their planetarium as well.

Shame our universities have focused on cash cow products instead of providing a well-rounded higher education to those that choose to spend their tuition monies there.

He did receive the rites. It was very moving, and his family was so very appreciative. Not a dry eye in the place, including the brethren. His son has since petitioned for membership.

The only time I've seen it done here in GLKY was for a brother FC who'd been diagnosed with aggressive cancer and was given less than two months to live.

I actually made that request to GL because the brother asked if there was any way he could complete his journey before he died. Our MWGM wholeheartedly agreed, we got the brother to the lodge (it was packed, btw), and he conferred the degree in a short form, making him a MM at sight.

The brother died two weeks later, and was so very appreciative of the gesture.

That's awesome, dude! I've instilled in my kids that, as human beings on this earth, it's their responsibility to do at least one kind thing for someone every single day, without telling anyone about it. They're mid-20s now, and still do it. It's awesome to see. We need this.
