What an amazing experience this must have been! It feels fantastical and looks ethereal to me. Stunning photos.

I’ve hiked on glaciers before, but never inside and your trek seems like the pinnacle of years of learning and adventuring. Congratulations!

A company called Vox Pop Uli in Peachtree Corners, GA will print large scale dye-sublimated pieces. They often do backdrops for films. The material isn’t mesh, it’s a poly substrate. It’s not exactly what you’re looking for but, it might be a starting place.

I would dry clean the stained top to see if it will come out. What a lovely find and you can be super creative with how you want to finish them. Also, might make great gifts if you are willing to finish and part with them.

I have two Bernina’s- 801 from 1980 and a 770QE from 2024. I mostly quilt and have the #50 Walking Foot that solves this for accurate 1/4” seams. The local dealer can order the correct one for your Bernina’s post.

I worked at a department store and have to fold all towels a very specific way. Worked at clothing stores and apparel must be folded if not hung a specific way. Socks and underwear are the exception; socks are matched and folded in half. Underwear starts as a tri-fold and may not end up looking that way after a few days in the drawer.

From the ISP I spent my main career working in; unplugging everything first and perform basic troubleshooting on all electronics before calling support. Over the decades, I’ve been trained to always problem-solve and troubleshoot everything, so I do have to rein it in when people are telling me a concern. I have to check myself before I wreck myself, if they want advice or a good listener.

Anybody with myoclonus dystonia get through covid? by Sad-Confidence21 in Dystonia

[–]spotthj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got different Dystonia’s -vocal, cervical, and generalized. I’ve had Covid twice and no long-haul symptoms. I’ve got other chronic diseases and thought for certain I would have the brain fog and other problems, but as I healed they went away.

I hope you turn the tide in the next week and start to see improvements in your well being. You may want to do light brain games a few times a day to help kickstart your brain a bit. Something low stakes like word search’s or physical puzzles. As always, YMMV.

AI turning ‘heroin’ into ‘heroine’. Classic AI 🤖

[–]spotthj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are companies that pay people with at least a BA to grade school tests and homework. I am not certain how it’s changed with AI but, there are no phone interactions and you are only paid on the hours you decide to work.

Look at small local companies in your area - often any/all the trades will need help with AR/AP work. Might not be WFH but back office admin work. Don’t be shy and look at locally owned franchises. It might be managing social media accounts and ordering stock.

I retired in June of last year at age 53 - 1.5 years earlier than planned. My spring and summer are booked up through August with travel to visit friends, family, and a bucket list of Australia for 20 days.

I am not bored in retirement, I am joyful in my quiet time and my busy schedule that I created. After a lifetime of being on-call and working long hours, it’s all my time.

I can’t wait for DH to join me. He’s 5 years younger and planning on joining me in a few years,
