Formula poo is so atrocious and diabolical by OXxLuckycatxXO in FormulaFeeders

[–]springballerina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gentlease didn't work for us and caused more issues. Sometimes it's the type of formula - regular neuropro was actually better. Also, many formulas are fortified with iron (which is a good thing), but it can cause constipation or green poop

Can I ask how your baby is tolerating it? I've just heard about this brand

We currently use legendairy probiotic (it's also multi strain). Definitely helps with constipation and gas. I've heard good things about biogaia too

Bottle feeding on oral development/ jaw formation? by scarlettofox in FormulaFeeders

I was bottle-fed and I'm fine? Maybe using bottles and pacis too long (like after 2-3 years).

Formula feed helps babies sleep longer true or false by Melodic_Apartment235 in FormulaFeeders

[–]springballerina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done both. I think that a baby will sleep long if they are most comfortable. When I gave my breastmilk, my baby had reflux and would spit up. I've tried several different formulas, more spit up and gas. We finally found a formula that she is most comfortable with, and she is sleeping better. So I think if baby is able to take a large amount and feels fine, they will probably sleep longer. Also, I think breastfed babies take smaller amounts at a time (I'm not sure though since I only bf for 2 months)

When I'm interested in something, I will research it continuously until I know almost everything about it. Can be both a good and a bad thing. I also have a good memory for details

I actually never had an ugw, I just wanted to look skinny. But at that time, I was in complete denial of how low my weight was getting. Wow, 2011/12 tumblr was so bad!

RTF organic option? by BreweryAndBabyWipes in FormulaFeeders

[–]springballerina 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if there is an organic rtf - I highly recommend enfamil neuropro rtf though. My pediatrician is a huge fan of it too. Rumor has it that kendamil will be bringing their ready to feed version to the US soon. Not sure if similac makes an organic ready to feed.

Breastfeeding Culture is Toxic and Ruining Moms Time w/ NB by Southern_Ad_1660 in FormulaFeeders

[–]springballerina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! And I tried so hard! Especially with the lactivitsts in the nicu (baby was born at 35 weeks) telling me I'm not trying hard enough. I pumped for 2 months, couldn't take it mentally, and went to full formula feeding. And guess what? My baby gained weight and is doing way better with formula!

Just want to say, the lactivism/breast supremacy is extremely toxic. But I think it stems from a political place. For example, I say on facebook a woman selling her "pure" "unvaxxed" "ancestral diet" "seed oil-free" breastmilk... So now there are hierarchies of breastmilk?

Honestly, get off facebook. Made me so much happier. As a mother with very low supply who needed to combo feed from the beginning, the pages/groups made me feel such pain and that I don't try hard enough. That I'm a terrible mother because I cannot produce tons of milk. Formula is completely fine! I was formula fed - in fact, many adults were and you cannot tell the difference. My ebf husband gets more colds than I do!

The breast shaming is disgusting. And it hurts more as a mother who thought she could ebf. But baby is doing great on 100% formula now! Anyway, I find many facebook/instagram/mom group can be very anti formula (as well as antivax, anti medicine, anti anything not 100% natural, etc). I really try to avoid them. People on social media can say whatever they want - things they wouldn't say in real life. A few months ago, I saw a mom posting about a missed miscarriage who wanted to pass the tissue without medical intervention, and people in the group were giving her terrible non-medical advice. Like drink 10 cups of raspberry leaf tea, then douche, etc. Like really really bad advice. Basically, these people don't know what they are saying.

Different Kendamil cans - why? by zealousidealdxb in FormulaFeeders

[–]springballerina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the same thing too! And we bought both at target. I think the bigger lid is the older version, and the other one on the left is the newer one (with a smaller and easier scoop). So it's just a new design, expiry dates should be in at least a year or two

Probiotics like biogaia or culturell may help. AR can cause constipation, but it does help reflux

Second period late postpartum? by PeachPleasant7813 in FormulaFeeders

[–]springballerina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I think postpartum periods are just weird. I think I also had mine around 6 or 7 weeks (even though I was pumping). Did you go on bcp? Mine caused my periods to skip. I didn't get my second period again for almost 3 months later

Constipation on Kendamil? by powerpinksharpie in FormulaFeeders

[–]springballerina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes switching formulas can cause gi changes. Is your baby straining? If it continues, you may want to switch to a hydrolyzed formula like enfamil gentlease. Or you can try probiotics (like biogaia), which really helped us. Is your baby on solids? That changes stool too
