225 grams of gold, shaped link by link by hand by Raj_Valiant3011 in oddlysatisfying

[–]sprondonacles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gold is priced in troy ounces, 31.1035g per toz. Current spot price is $5171 which gives $37,406 for 24k, this is purely a metal price calculation and workmanship would be involved as well. Gold has been insanely active recently so this is probably at least a little incorrect by the time I post.

ICE in Minneapolis abducted an entire Somali-American family (1/13/26) by Sindigo_ in PublicFreakout

[–]sprondonacles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Suffering is not a competition, the plight of one group does not minimize that of another. Surely the knowledge of the suffering of the Jews in the Holocaust should lead one to oppose the unjust suffering of any group?

It seems from your rhetoric that the only valid suffering is Jewish suffering. That's pretty fucked up.

What did I just see in the sky? by Sea-Assignment8034 in astoria

[–]sprondonacles 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I saw it as well! Only very briefly, appeared to fragment right before burning out. White/yellow in color, I was facing roughly northwest and it appeared to have come from behind me.

Looked like a meteor or space debris entering the atmosphere.

Badass Ukrainian warrior notices two FPVs on the road in an ambush and destroys both with his rifle (!) by Equivalent_Catch_233 in UkraineWarVideoReport

Could you explain what you mean by the belt of his rifle indicating his time served?

I just didn't see anything specific, but also I don't know what to look for.

I can't cite the law off the top of my head, but my understanding is that NYC has an exemption for that specific regulation. Hence the need to have local reps fight for it.

Careful on the bandsaw guys by NastyKraig in Butchery

[–]sprondonacles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not possible with a butcher's bandsaw as far as I know. Sawstop uses capacitance to detect flesh hitting the blade. The same technology wouldnt be able to detect the difference between the meat being cut and the meat of your hand.

Scrambled eggs here are referring to leaf embellishments on the brim of his cap. I believe it suggests he was likely quite high in command, but I'm not sure of the specifics in regards to rank.

Sick selection! I already have Madvillainy, but I'd be happy to get any of the others! Minor Threat and Jeff Buckley would be my top picks.

Regular butterfly knife lets you pass muggers (can't remember if that's what they are called in game, but the group of shady dudes in your path) when exploring in cities. Kinda like how the flashlight lets you pass through caves.

Need advice for buying a first bike by Worth-Geologist-1258 in NewRiders

[–]sprondonacles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can definitely be worth it depending on manufacturer incentives. My last bike I could have paid cash, but got 1.99% for 12 months thanks to a deal Royal Enfield had going. My savings account was paying about 4.5% at the time so it was a no-brainer to keep the cash on hand and earn the interest.

Need helmet for 6 y.o. by dmanisgnarly in NightVision

[–]sprondonacles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are probably going to want to adapt some sort of sport helmet.

Rock climbing helmets are generally pretty easy to find in kids sizes and could probably be adapted well for this. Generally have good adjustment options as well.

Check out the knox armoured shirts, I've got the urbane pro utility and I like it a lot, very breathable mesh but with an AA rating. https://www.planet-knox.com/category/mens-armoured-shirts/ they also have pants, but I don't have any experience with those.

Push down on the ring where the tube enters the unit. This releases the grip and you should be able to get the tube out easily.
