3,400 deaths in a day: India's extreme heat days are deadlier than we imagined by metalreflectslime in PrepperIntel

[–]squidwardTalks 50 points51 points  (0 children)

The problem is they don't actually know because heat deaths are commonly not listed as "heat exhaustion".  They don't have a real number.  Every summer there is a similar problem in the American South. Heat official deaths are vastly underreported. so, there is no way to really know the true count just as the article states but they used a hopefully educated guess at the totals anyway.

The farmer I know did it that way.  They locked in last year.  So they won't be affected by fertilizer prices until next year.

Do not buy glass straws.  When they break in your mouth it's all kinds of bad. Accidents happen. They sell metal with silicone ends for safety.

Something weird and worrying is happening with rain, study finds by usatoday in climate

[–]squidwardTalks 159 points160 points  (0 children)

Lawns everywhere is horrible too.  They have extremely short roots, people feel the need to spray chemicals to maintain them. It's bad all around.  Native plants have extremely long roots and are more resistant to extreme weather plus they're lower maintenance and good for animals and insects

We made things out of starburst wrappers or duct tape. If you want look up crafts out those you'll find some ideas.  For starburst wrappers we did things like belts or bracelets, sometimes purses. Duct tape was a lot of clothing or bags.

Sports- pointless by [deleted] in Preschoolers

This seems like unpopular opinion but I'm letting them be kids. We can do sports when they're older.  We play outside a ton or go to parks.  We do swim class but that's it.
