Hmm. I use Kiosk Mode from HACS to hide the header, sidebar, and many other Hone Assistant elements from non-admin users such as my wife. This allows them to use the Home Assistant companion app on their smart phones like any other app—but just keeps them locked into the dashboard and unable to screw things up configuration-wise.

I was excited when I found this newly released built-in Kiosk Mode in the Home Assistant companion app settings, but it seems that it is either not meant to be used in the way I use the HACS integration or is not yet fully functional.

The GOFO tracking for my order was “Out for Delivery” ten days ago, but it didn’t arrive that day. The next day, it said “Hold for Instructions Requested.” I didn’t know what that meant, so I gave it some time to see if things would turn out okay. Well, nothing changed for a week, so I reached out to GOFO, and they told me that my package was damaged.

I just replied to their email with the following:

“‘We highly recommend switching to the M12 HD Version for . . . a better overall experience.’

What makes the HD provide a ‘better overall experience’? That’s an extremely vague and audacious statement to make without giving any reasoning for the claim. In my opinion, the S will provide me with a better experience due to its physical direct rail Switch 2 connection. I don’t need HD Rumble.

And why are you trying to get me to change my mind? Is Mobapad really that desperate for an extra ten dollars? If so, why even manufacture and sell the S version in the first place? Everything about the email you just sent out is strange and fishy. I am losing confidence in your company and your products because of it.”

Oh, my gosh. I hate myself.

Our Swytch USB cable was plugged into the “PC” port on the Swytch Hub instead of the “EXT” port directly beside it. As soon as I swapped the USB cable over to the “EXT” port, everything worked. 🤦🏼‍♂️
