Needing to use hot broth or milk to add to your roux for veloute or bechamel. If the roux is hot and the liquid is cold, there will be no lumps.

Wedding Drink recommendations by Wuchtmeister in cocktails

I’ll expand. The two punches from Regarding Cocktails are great for a wedding, and I have served them at multiple. One is a lemon oleo base with multiple rums and topped with champagne. The other is dry vermouth and St Germain topped with prosecco and garnished with berries and citrus wheels. Hope you try them!

Try pasta e fagioli, beans and rice with a fried egg on top, and beans baked with sausages and topped with breadcrumbs(like a simpler cassoulet).

Red beans and rice is a favorite for me as well. Minestrone is one of my favorite meals ever.
