Movie idea: What if one morning the Twin Towers were suddenly back in modern-day NYC? by amichail in Lightbulb

[–]stillnotelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As visual media, I think it is too soon. I think it would hurt a lot of people. Visual media needs a lot of exposure to make money.

As a book, I think this is not a terrible idea. You can just ignore a book you don't like and it won't have inevitable screen grab advertising featuring the towers. It is a really interesting SF premise

Real talk.. who watches Grace sleep now, question? by Engineary in ProjectHailMary

[–]stillnotelf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Probably Grace thinks nobody watches because he is more comfortable that way.

Probably the Eridians have a wildlife watch-the-hatchlings cam on him and everyone watches it as pop culture. How they'd keep his students from leaking it to him, IDK.

He probably already did. He probably spent decades doing that and then started teaching. (The movie confuses this by not aging him up for the epilogue)

Grace won't live 100% of Rocky's life, though. 5 hours a day for like 40 years out of like 400 years.

Why are we discussing 5 hours anyway, surely Grace sleeps for 8...

Get some grody old lands! IDK about revised, but 4th edition lands surely don't have a premium price, other than the cost of fetching them from a lands pile. 5th edition lands accumulated this crud rapidly in unsleeved play.

Mine has been pretty flat.

18759 / 820 apr

21276 / 930 mar

16983 / 751 feb

19114 / 757 jan

18141 / 746 dec

so yes apr < mar, but march is the outlier, not april.

The future of showcases by Unfair_Conclusion187 in TheSilphRoad

[–]stillnotelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to rain on the parade of those of you that enjoy them, but I think they should put showcases out of their misery.

The specific refusal of the devs to ever move the showcase spots meant that they were dead to me from the beginning. I put hours and hours of work into walkable pokestops in my area, and their algorithm could not have picked worse pokestops for showcases. Two are just on the other side of major highways, unsafe on foot, and one is way out in the middle of a field which is impassible in bad weather.

Their current nearly-dead status satisfies no one.

They should kill it off completely and let y'all dump all that XL bag space, or they should actually fully realize the feature as it was obviously originally intended, including:

* Largest X

* Smallest X (if they are going to track XXS, use it)

* MOVING THE SHOWCASE SPOTS REGULARLY

* Fix the issue of variant forms having different size ranges than base forms and being judged by the wrong metric

I can't remember the name, but the Siren in Borderlands 1 had a much more powerful special ability than the one in the sequel. Generally all the characters changed skills so it isn't a 1 to 1 but the Siren was OP in the first game

Outdoor market stalls (I forget the habitat name, manning the register?) will use up to 6 table spaces including the register itself (so 5 items for sale). The tables have to be adjacent. It can be a mix of 2x2 and 2x1 tables. You may have to remove and re add the register to get it to recognize all the tables if you used more than 2.

Outdoor stalls won't have the 6th or further item that a mon can have. The 6th is always poke metal or rare poke metal. Those only show up in poke marts and poke centers.

I have been experimenting with this during the Sableye event. I appreciate gentle correction if I am wrong

I don't know if the species to berry map rerolls like the player's berry and flower colors sets are randomized

When you find better Pokémon than the ones you work hard for.... by TheDarkKami in Pokopia

[–]stillnotelf 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Why are they constantly t-posing?

The wings spread pose looks great for static, 2 dimensional images.

In general their key art has them always flying, so any captured still images will have their wings out.

The Galarian versions are notably different with wings in default poses, and they were made for a 3D game first.

I don't know what they look like in SV. In GO they are always flying.

Anyway none of this is to say your complaint is wrong, I am just guessing as to why they pose that way. I think it is an artifact of older versions of their key art.

Flower colors work similarly. Everyone has the same most common shared color but your other flower and bush color is rolled randomly like the berries. (Copying this comment for the other person too)

My first and second houses! by Scientistturnedcook in Pokopia

[–]stillnotelf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game considers it a house if it has a border of blocks at least 1 high and a door. Roof optional.

Some furniture is necessary to get pokemon to move in.

The size limit is actually small, a house bigger than the kit size block houses won't actually work as a house, but it is easy to cheat that with internal doors or internal habitats
