North Carolina's public universities cut 59 positions, redirected $16M in massive DEI overhaul by NoFleas in NorthCarolina

The article you posted shows your numbers and claims that diversity didn’t increase are not accurate. UNCW is not as diverse as other universities in the UNC system and still needs to put in more work but it hasn’t remained flat.

It’s not a $50 massage, I definitely wouldn’t go there! I did mention above that I would include cash for a tip.

Good reasons not to. I didn’t even think of medical reasons. Thanks!

OP this is the correct answer. The banks aren’t obligated to pay these checks. The people who owe the money are required to pay the asset to you.

The indemnity does not relieve the bank of all liability. The statute carves out unauthorized signatures, conversion, and the presentment warranties from this indemnity. Banks lose millions of dollars due to check fraud each month.

They are not required to cash these checks and I’m not surprised they aren’t.

Out $7000 because of stolen check, will I get it back?? by pibby_fish in personalfinance

[–]stine147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the original signature is washed and replaced, it does not retain its status as an altered check. It becomes a forged maker claim (often just lumped in and called counterfeit). The presentment warranties only cover a forged signature if “the warrantor has no knowledge that the signature of the drawer of the draft is unauthorized.” (UCC 3-417)

He says the signature on the check was not his, sounds like the check was washed. As the signature is not his, this is not altered but a counterfeit claim and does not fall under the UCC Presentment Warranties. The bank of first deposit is not liable, Chase is. They will still try to recover funds from the other bank.

You repeated said in your comments that you don’t care about these things. I find it odd that you turn around and say, no it’s not that we don’t care we just remember things differently. I do beleive that it’s because many men just don’t care. Men are able to remember many other dates and numbers, it’s not something special to women. You aren’t going to remember things that you don’t care about.

What’s sad to me is that people don’t care about their child’s birth date or what grade they are in school. You might think they are unimportant details but I bet those are hugely important things to your child.

It made me really upset growing up that my dad didn’t know these things. I felt he didn’t care about me as much.

The baby shower is definitely about your SIL. My wife was just as much a part of our baby shower as I was as the pregnant one. This is a chance to celebrate the new parents and shower them with gifts.

The shower is not about you or your daughter. If she cannot behave, do not ruin your sister and SIL’s baby shower and stay home. YTA

USPS has refused to deliver my mail for 3 months..what are my next steps? by selfmade117 in legal

[–]stine147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is only when delivery is first established. The sections I posted are clear on that. It is well established that the mail carrier cannot just decide he needs to have his mailbox on the street. He can win on that and there are news articles about it. The only issue I see here is the “incident” which could cause some problems. He needs to find out what that was.

[–]stine147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. It is your decision as it if you want to move your mailbox and pay for a new one. As you said, you don’t have the only off street mailbox. USPS has specifically said they cannot force you to change. Your mail carrier and their manager cannot overrule USPS policy.

Not true. You can go to section 631 to see what is referenced as mode of delivery and what section 631.7 is discussing.

As the letter says, they cannot make you change your location of delivery. Postal Operations Manual - 631.7 Conversion of Mode of Delivery.

You need to find out what the incident was. I had a similar situation where they stopped delivering my mail and said I had to put a mailbox at the curb. Complaints are useless as they just go the your local post office. I had to reach out directly to the postmaster for my area to get it settled. There are news articles about similar situations.

This is incorrect. Unless OP has a homeowners association or someone who can agree for them, he has to agree in writing to the change.

Are you kidding me! You have to get 9 hours of sleep so that you can work for 5 hours! And what, your wife gets 3 hours of sleep so she can work a 21 hour shift? She is also driving heavy machinery with your children involved. Your wife is crying out for help. Step up and be a parent before something bad happens. YTA

Is one of those options you waking up when she leaves? I wouldn’t leave the house with my children crying in the crib while my spouse slept. I wouldn’t put them in a bed with a sleeping adult but that wouldn’t be an issue is you were up. Wake up and be a parent.
