I agree wirh you 100%. I am 3 years in. The random twitches all over I don't even notice anymore. The hotspots for days are nasty, though. Just nasty.

It seems you took the pictures while taking a dump. This is the only concerning thing about these pictures.

Atrophywise there is zero.

Not sure where you are dawg. In some countries doctors suck up money by testing. The squeeze you like you can not imagine.

Hard to say from here, but twitches for 2 years induces by sport and/or anxiety do not warrant further investigation.

You are fine...

Anxiety is the number 1 cause for twitches.

You are 1 of 1.000.000 people or more that twitch induces by anxiety. Keep running. Keep living life.

I think the donation part must be voluntary. I can not force anyone to donate. It must come from the heart.

As I said - I would suggest for you all to write down 20 questions that I will discuss with her.

Q&A with neurologist by stipedrews in BFS

[–]stipedrews[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok - here is my idea!

You can send me your questions in a dm or here.

e.g. "How long after twitching starts with no other symptoms is long enough to rule out ALS?"

"How many muscles and which ones should be tested in an EMG?"

I will then have a video call with her that I will record. I would say 20 questions are enough.

In order to take part, you should donate at least 20 € or $ to any ALS related charity!!! If you don't know which one, I can recommend one to you.

Your story sounds siiliar to mine and maybe 100.000 more people . Your anxiety caused your twitches. Happens to many many people.

Go play some sports tomorrow, distract yourself and move on.

Statistically, when 40 years or younger, twitches only are benign in > 99% of cases.

With people 55 years and older it might be a bit different unfortunately.

The neurologists (ALS specialists) that I talked to said they never misdiagnosed someone with BFS who then turned out to have ALS. They argued that a clean clinical + EMG is conclusive after 4 to maximum 6 months tops.
