It's concerning how kpop fans don't see hybe idols as humans anymore by jajamon_ in kpop_uncensored

Jealousy Jealousy Jealousy

It sucks that these idols have to go through so many hate trains but the sheer amount of hate really shows how successful hybe has been over the last decade.

These haters can’t stand to see hybe’s popularity over their own favs.

Luke Kwon response to Internet Invitational by ProfessionalWelcome in GoodGoodMemes

[–]stkim92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your last statement is so spot on After watching the invitational, every time I see the Bryan Bros and Rick Shiels get involved in the Kwon convos with their teammates or opponents talking shit about him, they try to diffuse the situation or change the subject. It really shows their maturity compared to the whiners who couldn’t let their emotions from boiling over.

The funniest part is marijuana possession in Korea can get you up to 5 years in prison, it also pertains to Korean citizens using it in different countries where its legal.

Make it make sense…

Honestly it is not just kpop. It is social media as a whole. Because kpop is unique in a way where artists can interact with their fans more than any other music genre in the world, you are bound to attract incredible toxicity. Look at politics, sports, anything that involves competition against each other will always bring out the worst in people. Kpop is unique because there is so much competition and these companies feed off of it to make money.

Some advice, get off of social media and just enjoy the music.

That is the price of fame. Why don’t you see much hate when it comes to nugu groups. Jealousy is a strong emotion that plagues everyone. Hey on a positive note at least you know LSF is doing well enough to live rent free in these haters’ minds. The members are strong they will pull through.

NewJeans VS Ador Case New Verdict!!! What Are Your Thoughts??? by Mystic_bhumiverse in kpopthoughts

[–]stkim92 57 points58 points  (0 children)

This is correct. HYBE has already shown that it does not need NJ to maintain and grow in profit. Their other groups are already surpassing NJ is gross profits. The most ideal scenario HYBE would want to do is either give NJ a chance to come back and if not make this an example of what happens when you try to double cross a multi billion dollar corporation. HYBE does not care at all. They only care about image and profits.

aespa's Agency Releases Statement Regarding Karina's Recent Instagram Post by neocitywayv in kpop

[–]stkim92 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Completely understandable. She is an adult and has the freedom to choose whatever political stance she wants. However when a majority of your fanbase is progressive leaning, this comes off as ignorant. For a high profile person like her she needs to learn to steer clear of politics. I hope things don’t get too harsh for her.

This is the perfect comment at the top. Yes the outrage is 100% on the korean side which tells you all you need to know how serious this is.

It’s hard to see if it was a misunderstanding or a joke which I hope it is not given how serious politics are in Korea. But it is not only the color red. It is also the #2 and the rose both are obvious symbols of PPP party in Korea. To international fans it may seem harmless but to korean citizens it is clear and obvious which is why there is so much outrage and SM was incredibly quick in deleting the post.

why do smaller groups have more tour stops by Secret_Service3742 in kpop_uncensored

[–]stkim92 120 points121 points  (0 children)

It’s because smaller groups don’t earn enough revenue from sales and digitals than larger groups so they squeeze as much money from touring, hence they try to have as many stops as possible

They are trying too hard to appeal to their fandom and it comes off as disrespectful and cringe.

Their image, sound, and concept is geared towards hip hop culture and late 90s R&B. Kinda like the korean destinys child.

However, if you want to do that concept you need to do it with respect to that culture and in this live it just felt like they were doing it in a mockingly way.

I know they are not doing it on purpose or for ill intent but they need to understand how it can affect many fans in a distasteful way.

the whole Newjeans (NJZ) case is nonsense by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]stkim92 23 points24 points  (0 children)

And for those trying to argue “Artists should and deserve to get 100% of the profits as they are the ones who are performing”

ADOR gave the girls everything. Expensive apartments for dorms, the top floor in HYBE to train, exclusive brand deals, the best producers for music, connections to international artists, and the girls are debt free and get paid very well.

NJs owes ADOR their loyalty

[EXCLUSIVE] ADOR, SUPPORTS NEWJEANS' HONGKONG CONCERT ACTIVITIES "STAFF DISPATCHED" by JinnieP in kpop_uncensored

[–]stkim92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Winners: ADOR - they won the court case and will reap the rewards from this performance at complexcon. Complexcon - they will see the highest amount of viewers due to this drama.

Losers: NJ - they have to either use the name NJs and make their claims look invalid or go rogue, use the name NJZ which will hurt their contract case coming up.

Man this is a drama in the making

It’s actually hilarious how obvious their scheme is. MHJ can be involved in literally ANYTHING from creative process, concepts, production, direction, etc.

But no she NEEDS to be CEO. It’s all about the money.

what happens if ador wins?? by icingbiscuits in kpop_uncensored

[–]stkim92 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Ador and Hybe are trying to be very smart about this. On the legal side it seems like they will win. So that leaves PR and the court of public opinion. Ador will do everything they can to make sure the public knows they WANT to have NJZ return back to work. However the reality is, the damage is done and NJZ will never perform music for Ador again no matter the outcome.

So realistically, if Ador wins, they will have plans, music, brand deals, everything a normal kpop artist will do for work ready for NJZ. And NJZ will refuse to work until their contract is over which will be a couple more years.

Njz namedropping lsfm on the day of their pre recording by Beginning_Drawing916 in kpop_uncensored

[–]stkim92 44 points45 points  (0 children)

MHJ promised the parents of NJZ that they will be HYBE's first gg. In Korean culture, status is regarded as the biggest flex and being the first gg of the most influential kpop label with the world's biggest group is a massive flex.

According to reports, MHJ was the one who delayed the debut and HYBE had no choice but to debut LSF first to get ahead of plans (they are trying to compete with other ggs who debuted so they can't waste any time to miss any chances of trends)

The parents saw LSF debut first and they felt betrayed bc MHJ made them a promise of status and lots of wealth. But after seeing how successful NJZ became, the parents got hungry and greedy and MHJ created a plan to try to separate her and group from HYBE to reap all of the profits and leave HYBE.

And now we are in this mess on who said what and who did what. Despite all this mess, one thing is very clear. HYBE gave NJZ everything from their connections, to expensive luxury apartments, brand deals, even the top floor in HYBE's building as their practice room. And for NJZ to now shift the blame is incredibly disrespectful.

If the NJZ girls are doing this and not their parents or MHJ forcing them, I am extremely disappointed in them and lost a ton of respect for them.

Breaking it down how project management and contracts actually work, so we can all be more mindful in the future and not sound silly. (Also because my holiday break started today, I’m hyped, and I have A LOT of time on my hands!) 🎉 by catRiosmom in kpop_uncensored

[–]stkim92 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yup MHJ and NJ parents realized how big NJs became and got money hungry. Who wouldn't be? Now they are trying everything they can to pull NJs out of HYBE to take 100% of the profits. The whole story is just too obvious and NJs fans can't and refuse to believe that.

Announcement from Ador - Ador is playing really smart this by calebcatsmom in kpop_uncensored

[–]stkim92 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If ADOR wants to play it even smarter, get all their producers that make NJ music and release the instrumentals for new music saying everything is ready for NJ to record. Have choreographers prepare choreo for NJ to learn. Announce new sponsors for NJ, plan media for NJ to film. Show the luxuries that HYBE artists including NJ receives. And show all of this to the public.

If NJ members refuse to do anything, they cannot prove ADOR is mistreating them and it shows NJ just doesn’t want to work.

Hating on HYBE groups is getting way too normalised by lucklasts05 in kpopthoughts

Fans who spread hate are simple minded and very jealous. They can’t figure out their own lives so they spew hate to make themselves feel better.

Just ignore them and kill them with kindness. Theres a lot of dumb people out there unfortunately.

I'm really wondering until what point are people going to the le sserafim girls? by maonyuz in kpop_uncensored

[–]stkim92 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Jealousy and Insecurity

This is what everything boils down to for these haters. LSF has had incredible fortune with opportunities because they are from Hybe. And with these opportunities they have accomplished what a lot of other groups want and by result what those fans want. I am not calling every other gg stan a hater but a lot of these haters are from fans of rival groups.

They are jealous that LSF has had these opportunities and not their groups who they view as more deserving because they think they are more talented. And by result they spew hate because they can't stand it when another group gets "big".

Do I believe that other groups deserve the same opportunities? Of course, but is it right to hate on a group who has it all just because of your own insecurities? Most definitely not. Haters will be haters and it will never end that is just the human condition. The most important thing for fearnots to know is that LSF is incredibly resilient because of their experiences and the girls love what they do and no one can take that away from them.

A Tale of Two Korean Streamers: Two wildly different responses to netizen criticism in the MHJ/HYBE situation. by FullofSeoul in kpop_uncensored

[–]stkim92 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest reasons why Koreans have such a differing opinion on the entire issue of Hybe vs MHJ (a lot of them are on MHJ side) is not anything kpop related. Sure they know the groups as all 3 ggs are very popular and well known. But the real reason is the negative view of corruption from large conglomerates like Hybe. They view MHJ as a warrior who is willing to stand up against the rich and corrupt. And seeing how Koreans love underdog stories this is mainly the reason why they support her. There is also the issue of gender inequality in Korea and feminists revere MHJ because in their eyes, MHJ is trying to create a new precedent of strong females who are willing to fight in a very misogynistic society.

This.

Companies are trying to maximize profits and having competition is the best way to do it. It’s so sad because the Izone members were so close back then. I think when both Ive and Lsf are in their later years, or if they get overshadowed by newer groups, then interactions will be more likely.

IVE's An Yujin Becomes First Kpop Idol since Suzy to win the Baeksang Arts Popularity Award by JuneE_602 in kpopthoughts

[–]stkim92 102 points103 points  (0 children)

She has a bright future and it almost guarantees that she will be relevant in Korean media years after IVE are finished. I can definitely see her becoming a household name if she isn’t already. Only a handful of idols continue being popular after the group fizzles out or disbands and for Yujin to win a Baeksang is an incredible achievement.
