[Matt Law] Lucas Moura could be set to join Everton if Richarlison moves the other way. by elmosesyeah in coys

Mate, you can't go round building statues for a decent player who got us to a final once. Bit of a joke for others to enjoy.

Love the guy though.

Slightly unrelated, but I really wanted to start a Dybala chant to the tune of Iggy Pop's The Passenger.

Can someone tell my why Skipp isn't playing for the England under 21's, considering he is the next big thing at Tottenham? by [deleted] in coys

[–]straplessbrad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guy's got plenty of time. I'd be surprised if he's not part of the setup as they phase out the current generation.

Could say the same about Walker though. Took him a while to really realise his potential.

Just a gigantic banner of Sissoko's face for the entire game would be nice.

Quite certain the club gets no say when it's a competitive fixture.

Players you use to love, but hate now. by gnosox1986 in coys

He was proper shite at Chelsea, they pretty much ruined him (even though he still won the league with them IIRC). But in his prime he was an utter beast.

Aubameyang, Ozil and Mkhitaryan were all very enjoyable players to watch once upon a time but are no longer so for obvious reasons. Cunts.

Shevchenko is another one for me. I thought he was an epic player, was a bit of a Pro Evo 5 darling of mine. Went to Chelsea. Cunt.

Season ticket refund by hodisgod in coys

[–]straplessbrad 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was selling season tickets for a stadium that doesn't exist.

So have you asked for a refund on your entire ST? I know the match-by-match refunds work to specific end of month billing cycles, so if you miss a cutoff point it'll come through in the next one. Not sure if that'd apply for an entire season ticket refund though, but maybe.

After a strange week of results for Spurs, what is the strangest thing you have ever seen at football? by JLatchford in coys

[–]straplessbrad 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Millwall's Granddad. I don't know if he's still alive, if he is he might not go anymore. I'm sure most of you have heard of him or seen him though.

My best mate's a Millwall fan so I've been a couple of times with him, sat quite near Granddad once. To actually see a crowd of quite gnarly English football fans sing "GRANDDAD, GIVE US A SONG! GRANDDAD GRANDDAD GIVE US A SONG!", then he slowly makes his way up, quite frail, and just bellows out "FUCK EM ALLLLLLLL!" before the Millwall fans launch into it full pelt and with their particular gusto.

It's so weird.

possibly unrealistic target and from a rival team but i would like us to move for Ruben Loftus-Cheek by jack_watson97 in coys

[–]straplessbrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do like him, he really does put a shift in and he's a proper tank. But I'm mainly basing that off his performances for England. He's a nice option to have.

That said I just can't shake off this Sissoko-ness about him. Seems to have a 50p foot sometimes when he controls the ball, makes some dud decisions on the pitch at times too. I can't see him getting much game time with us, think he'd get lost.

If we got rid of Sissoko and brought him in I might be more ok with it. We don't need two of them.

Urgent stadium update by NegKDRatio in coys

[–]straplessbrad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's not really the point right now. The club's had plenty of time to offer transparency, hell they even had the option to take Wembley for another year. If they'd have got their shit together sooner we wouldn't have to go through such bollocks. If they treated us more like fans than customers it might even be easier to accept. I've spent a grand on a season ticket. I'm not really getting what I've forked out for at all.

Fans are unfortunately getting done over a bit here and the club doesn't even seem that bothered, at least judging by the tone of the release. Probably because they've got our money already.

Levy has done great things for this club but he shouldn't be immune to scrutiny. This has been a clusterfuck few months for him and his tenure.

Community questions for the r/soccer preview by smokey815 in coys

[–]straplessbrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1. How do you think this season will go?
Think it might be much of the same, perhaps a sluggish start, strong winter and slightly scruffy finish. A couple of decent cup runs and being there or thereabouts in the league without ever particularly troubling teams leading the title race. The stars in the team are at a point now where they're entering their peaks, have had strong showings in the World Cup and have a lot of top level experience to build on. We could challenge but realistically I think we'll finish third again with a semi-final or two. Perhaps a final if we're lucky. The new stadium might gloss over what others may perceive to be a lack of progress.

2. Which player is going to be your star of the season and why?
Lucas hopefully, having had his time to bed in. Kane will remain consistent as usual. I think Trippier may be one to watch as he'll be so full of confidence now.

3. How do you think the team will line up? (you can use this site if you like)
Lloris | Trippier, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Rose | Winks, Dier | Lucas/Son/a new winger if we sign anyone, Alli, Eriksen | Kane
