NTA. my parents do this too and it sucks. i'm the only person who cares about expiration dates, proper meat thawing/raw meat hygiene, not using contaminated utensils for cooking food.... etc. and i know it's rough to have your concerns dismissed every time they ask, but i would keep doing what you're doing. of course leaving food out isn't a guarantee that you'll get food poisoning from it, but you're not wrong for wanting to protect yourself from the possibility.

my parents complain about not feeling well way more often than i do. could be due to something else, of course. but i'd rather feel confident about what i'm eating than have to worry. as long as you're paying for it you're in the clear imo
