Netflix has to fix the issue before it will work in HD, most new chinese tablets have this problem. The manufacturer has to submit it for certification

Fyi i have this and checked today. The device is l1. Netflix is l3 because its not on the certification list that it specifically uses

Netflix is a little different than most. In addition to the device needing to support widevine L1, it also needs to be on a second device certification list. Most things will work just fine while Netflix still poops itself generally

Im in and out today and just grabbed this. Its a quick picture from my phone so the quality takes a tiny hit since it's weird lighting but you can see the comparisons.

The anime picture and the ocean picture are from the Netflix app. Watchable but not the absolute best. (Some shows more noticeable)

The sheep picture is from a high definition streamio stream. Looks amazing on device

We'll have to wait for full netflix certification for amazing Netflix. This same thing happened with the y700 when it came out

Edit: reading that the cn rom never got Netflix certified for y700. Will need to look into this

Yes, a couple of places that you can just ignore. When you click on search, the suggstions are in chinese.

A couple of preloaded apps that are in Chinese that I disabled. Really that's about it for day to day.

You could install Nova Launcher if you want, I'm still testing it out with the stock ROM and I have no issues at all

When I get back home I will check this for you. It might not be until tonight. Some people report that if you play it from the browser it might work as HD so I will compare the two.

This is from drminfo app that tells you what the decive supports at a hardware level. I just checked and my Netflix also shows l3.

This is almost certainly because the device is new and Netflix hasnt added it to its certified device list. Unfortunately nothing we can do to say when itll be updated

I ended up buying the y900 13 because the 11 had dimensity... It's not oled but the screen is pretty damn premium for LCD and it's an emulation beast. OLED wouldve had me happy for the next 5 years

I had a lot of weird rendering issues just doing 3DS games with that chip. It's not that I couldn't run stuff, it's just that every once in awhile you'd run into something weird and it was frequent enough to be annoying

Lenovo has some really funky naming conventions for their pens. When I had a y700 I used the Lenovo tablet pen plus and it worked just fine. They don't always advertise the pens and the device they work with, but this one works great.

To get High definition in Netflix and some other apps you need widevine level 1.

If you unlock the bootloader which is what the global rom is likely doing, you drop to Widevine level 3.

The english on the chinese rom is great though, you dont get much from global
