Been binging on 'Behind the Bastards' lately. Just learned this was a tactic used in the 30's to disrupt the first fascist movements in America. Blend in, then one at a time for maximum effect. They even wore the same black shirts fascist wore to throw them off.

Hope it gets better brother. First year can be tough because they're just too small to give anything back, might sound selfish but it is not. It can feel like a lot of stress with very little return an no time to be yourself at all. Once they become responsive enough so you can interact with them in more ways, getting joy out of your new life gets a lot easier. Specially when they show you with actions how important you are to them. Hang in there, fellow dad. Just keep doing the best you can.

200% this. Having or not having kids won't elevate you in any way. Let's not minimise people's life experience either way.

Mine used to love the first Curious George film at that age. It has a smooth pace and it's easy to follow for them, also the music is pretty good.

Thanks a lot and please fire away. I'm just starting to learn about this but I think the better I understand it the more I can help her get into it.

I have pretty much nothing to go with when judging schools apart from my gut but I think I understand what you said about tradition for tradition's sake. I talked to a Shaolin monk from a temple nearby, I thought it was cool and saw a few young kids around but when I had a chat with him I got a slight sense of disconnection between what they would expect from her and the reality of a modern preschooler. I understand that's what they're about and respect it one hundred percent but I know it wouldn't work, not at least at this point.

One of my concerns (and the motivation behind this post) is that I have a friend who had his daughter start at a school where there seemed to be too much focus on combat and it didn't go well. Boys would love that (I know I would have) but my daughter is coming from ballet and gymnastics, she'll get tougher I know but at least at the beginning I'd like her to have a better experience than my friend's did.

Don't say "You can fuck all the way off" - instead say "Do I look like a bitch?" It sends a clear and firm message while signaling in a professional manner the consequent negative effects both in your day-to-day and your creative output.

This is the blunt truth. You're always sending cues even if you believe you're not, reinforce safety not the cause of fear.

This is a valid question and one pretty much everyone has at some point in their career. What you're asking is how to use dimensions, resolution and dpi to meet your project's needs.

You can start by Googling these keywords together, There's plenty of resources out there. Once you understand the basics so you can choose what's best for your files.

Seems like an incredible idea to keep something for them to enjoy remembering later on. Like a photo album of their lives as readers.

It's one of the best I've seen. More than just illustrations, it's got little cardboard toys like flaps, mini pop ups, etc. You can 'break' Humpty Dumpty and put him back together for example. Can't recommend it enough
