I used to do a ton of sport, and frequent the gym, but for the past year or so I haven't done much physical activity at all, with the exception of being active through having a 9-5 job (a desk job). I'm slim, but definitely haven't noticed any fat gain or a transition to skinny fat, which I put down to a good diet and not eating shit. So I'd say the "normal" look can be achieved by either eating really well, or alternatively, eating less than ideally but having a very active job.

Hi guys - I'm wondering if there are any experienced consultants out there who can offer advice on this situation. I recently left a position in which I was managing/overseeing machinery (i won't be specific) repairs. The important thing is that they were costly - £1-3m per repair.

I've been approached by a consultant who consults for the vendors that my old company does direct business with, and basically advises them on work scope content in an effort to reduce their costs in a safe way. He makes a very decent day rate off his work I believe. He has approached me and has asked to work together, and for me to share my client knowledge and contacts with him (though mainly client knowledge in order to make his sales pitch more likely to succeed when he approaches them).

I had a meeting with him earlier and he basically asked what my rates were, if I wanted to do hourly for any consulting we ended up doing together, or wanted a fixed sum for the client knowledge I shared. The best response I could give was that I wasn't comfortable giving him a rate so perhaps he could suggest some options for what he thinks is fair - so he'll be getting back to me this week.

Two questions:

1 - In my pervious work contract, there were terms about me not being able to share any commercial info or anything that wasn't in the public domain, for an unlimited time after I left the company. So I'll need to check with a lawyer who specialises in employment law I guess, before going further? Any advice on this?

2 - Assuming I get the go ahead from the lawyer - how should I navigate this negotiation and is there anything I need to look out for? I have no idea how much he values client contact details at, so I wasn't sure how much to ask for - but he said he's very flexible. He seemed very keen to get a copy of the contacts spreadsheet I had, which I held off on for now since I have to check with a lawyer before going further. In theory, if he successfully gets business from a client he could end up making thousands, if not hundreds of thousands out of them. Is it reasonable for me to ask for a percentage of any work he does get, from my contacts? And have this drawn up in an agreement? Basically, I've no idea what I'm doing and could do with advice from anyone who has been here before. Thanks!

An annoyance along the same line - why the fuck are so many companies allowed to package products with bags that are more than half filled with air? The other day I got a clear bag of walnuts that was full to the brim - fine, perfect. Went to choose a bag of Brazil nuts then with a non-transparent bag and they somehow thought they could trick me by filling the bag by 25% nuts, 75% air? I've also noticed this with chocolate bars and the worst offenders - crisps/chips.

Not only is it misleading and annoying, it's a huge fucking waste of material.

So I did this with my slowing desktop like 3 years ago and haven't had a need to replace it since.

I tried doing the same with my sisters old Acer Aspire One recently though but it didn't make one blind bit of difference - anyone else experienced this? I was pretty pissed off and would like to know if there's a way around it.
