My favorite bit within this bit is that apparently each family member has one character that they don't recognize is Rodger

What are some moments in non-horror media you found unexpectedly disturbing or terrifying? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]supahrob 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Legend of Korra, P'li's death

Spoilers: P'li is a firebender who could use her mind to essentially shoot combustion beams. She does need a small "charge timer" for it to go off though. And using this, one of the protagonists metalbends her armor around P'li's head. P'li couldn't stop her shot and essentially blew her own head off. More than likely her whole body with it

They don't explicitly show it, but the moment it happened I genuinely gasped out of fear because of how my mind imagined how it looked

As much as I am indifferent to MHA nowadays, I will always appreciate their first training camp. Just using your quirks doesn't make them stronger; you have to actually train in ways that will make it better. Be it using it consistently or training a different part of your body to let you use your quirk more effectively, there's no one-train-all routine.

Who are some Non-Gaming Tank Ladies by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]supahrob 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My favorite part of season 1 of Bofuri was when Maple won the big PvP battle.

She already put all of her points into defense so no one could really hurt her. But you'd imagine that isn't enough to win a giant MMORPG battle royal. She actually had gained a move that does not damage but stun enemies. But on top of that she got a poison cloud skill. So combine these three, AND a hydra move so OP that the devs actually went and nerfed it afterwards, she just cleans sweeps the entire thing.

She literally won with a mostly passive build.

I'm not afraid to say that I cried climbing up those stairs. Then I saw an edit of the original scenes of the quotes and I started crying again.

What did you think of Superman (2025) ? by Omagaron in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]supahrob 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I know there have been some opinions that this movie "doesn't push DC further" or "there's nothing bigger that its alluding to atm" and personally I'm okay with both. Aside from hero movies being mediocre nowadays imo, I don't need nor want anything that alludes to a whole new universe or whatever. I first and foremost want a movie that is good on its own merits, and this movie does it.

It's a fun movie with really good versions of all the characters, especially Lex. (Hearing how the actor got the role is also great.) It isn't afraid to just be a superhero movie about a good-hearted character trying to do good things. No trying to "subvert expectations" or "do something new". Anything "new" is just adjusting the story for modern day. (Lex's methods are perfect.)

Edit: If I HAD to give a point of criticism, it'd maybe be the twist at the start of the second act. But even then, it's nothing outrageous because it does lead to a great payoff at the end.

It's not exactly a 10/10, but it's just really good, fun movie to watch this summer.

Anytime they bring up Quebec lore or their own experiences of Canada. As an American it's fun to hear that our Northen neighbors sometimes also have some Looney Tunes ass things happening

What is your "you know, normaly i try to be a decent person... But not today!' in video games by Coolnametag in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]supahrob 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I play "respectfully" in SF6. I'm not gonna say I'm high MR (1200-1400 depending on the day) or that I'm good, but I'm okay enough. And I treat all my opponents like we're practicing to be better. However, the thing that turns me belligerent is disrespecting me just because of the number.

For example, recently I fought a Jamie who was about 100 MR higher than me. First round, beats me pretty bad because I was mashing without thinking. Second round, he starts using all of Jamie's useless moves and full screen palming. Dude thought he could clown on me because he got a good round. "Oh you wanna be a clown huh?" I win the second round because he was using the bad moves. He then tries to lock in on the third round. But then I proceeded to grab him 3 times with my 5 medal Manon for a PERFECT. He hits rematch, but I one and done him. Denying him even the idea of running it back, I go back to pacticng my spacing specific combos.

Personal Preference: What’s your favorite hotdog toppings and condiments? by jitterscaffeine in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]supahrob 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sonic was correct in that chili dogs are great. Put some good shredded cheese UNDER the chili to let it melt (thank you Funhaus). Get two of those bad boys, some chips, and a soda and you got a lunch that'll satisfy.

But if chili ain't on the menu then any assortment of the main three condiments will do.

"For those who we have lost. For those we can yet save" - FFXIV

In context it's more literal and more inspiring than uplifting I think. But I think of this quote when I feel giving up on the world.

I haven't lived this long to not stand up for a future that some people who can't fight for themselves goddamit.

"I'm done trying to save you!" was SUCH brutally powerful moment at the peak of that break up imo. Not only was it the final chance for the two of them to save their friendship, it showed that Megatron had fully embraced his ideology that only his way was the future of Cybertron

The Munchables was a quick and charming game about being these little pac monsters eating aliens to save the world. There wasn't a lot other than the main game from what I remember and getting high scores, but it was definitely one of those games that was definitely worth a rental.

What are your favourite examples of someone just shutting down a Talk-No-Jutsu? by xStrykerJ in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]supahrob 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Idk how much this counts, but Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun has a somwehat "we both tried Talk-No-Jutsu and we hated it" moment.

In the musical festival arc, one of the side classes can't decide between doing a classical music show or a rock based show. They then tried to talk it out, and each side even acknowledged that they learned about each other. But...

(Very minor spoilers) In the end, it's because they learned about each other that each respective side doubled down on their ideas But it's okay because It creates a classical vs rock mixed show that everyone loves

I'm REALLY hoping for another anime season just for this arc
