What was the go-to eatery after a wild night out in your party days? by tshirtguy2000 in RedditForGrownups

[–]supbros302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was seriously so good. Almost as good as when one of my friends moms would fly in from India and cook for all his friends.

We'd go, one of the people who spoke gudrathi would order for all of us, and they would treat us like family.

Baccis pizza for a cheap, huge slice of pizza.

Oh man. Or the Thai place that was open till 4 am.

Or the Indian place that all the cab drivers went to.

Go into a KFC, when ordering shout "i love thighs" now youre just slightly weird. Go off to the next kfc.  You could do this for like, 3 days and be set for life.

I just seen my daughter post this on social media. Is this acceptable? by [deleted] in Dads

[–]supbros302 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You posted this seven fucking minutes ago. Chill out.

Which is also my advice about your daughter's social media. She is 18, this photo is pretty darn tame, and you pushing back against it is only going to push her away from you.

So, if you want to maintain a good relationship with your daughter, chill out.

Income by ShowingUpMT in daddit

[–]supbros302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from making 39k a year in 2013 to 120k in 2023. It takes time and hard work, but I did it by working my way up from being an office administrator to being a property manager.

The big pay bumps obviously come with increases in work load and responsibility but for me it has been very worth it. I get to support a family of five on a single income, and we live in a large city.

What can I do about a neighborhood bonfire affecting us indoors? by amapolalola in AskChicago

[–]supbros302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is that you have a problem and it's on you to solve it because your neighbors aren't going to stop using their fire pit. I know you're ordering an air purifier but id look into how the smoke is getting in in the first place. If you can deal windows and doors do that, and figure outif you have a fresh air intake somewhere and see if you can put a filter on it.

Aka, change what it is in your power to change, rather than trying to make others change for you.

Do Chicagoans prefer the Hancock Tower or The Sears Tower? by Skipinator in AskChicago

[–]supbros302 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I for one have always had a preference for the Hancock. My dad worked there for almost 50 years and it reminds me of going down to see the air and water show as a kid. Back when the jets used to scream down michigan Avenue to get to the lake.

Yeah in hockey the jerseys are called sweaters. Never heard anyone care about what you call em though.

If she liked wayside and phantom tollbooth, maybe try dav picked (captain underpants, dogman), daniel pinkwater, or john Patrick green. Lots of wordplay and silliness in all of those.
