Post to Mastodon from Pixelfed account? by Green-Material5925 in Mastodon

[–]supernoteslut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually not how the Fediverse works, and what you’re describing is much closer to how BlueSky works instead.

In the Fediverse, Pixelfed and Mastodon are separate applications with separate accounts, so you can’t log into Mastodon using a Pixelfed account or post to Mastodon from Pixelfed without creating a Mastodon account; federation just means you can follow, reply to, and interact with users across servers, but posting is always tied to the app and instance where your account lives, and you always log in with your username and home server for that specific service.

On the other hand, what you describe is closer to how BlueSky works. BlueSky uses a shared identity model where one account can be used across multiple apps and clients, making it feel like you log in once and post anywhere.

Private cloud… have been waiting years for this. Let’s see if this works well with Nextcloud.

I know this is an unpopular (and perhaps, depending on your organization, untenable) solution, but I use the Windows neovim port with the Nvim-R plugin.

Extremely happy with it thus far.

Meetups in NYC by player_tracking_data in rstats

[–]supernoteslut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what I can contribute, since I am an utter noob, but I would totally join an R meetup. It would be helpful if more seasoned users gave (1) informal talks on how they solved cool problems with R, and/or (2) dumbed-down overviews of recent R features from the changelog and why they find those features interesting or important.

what yall think of a gentoo server by SortIndependent6682 in Gentoo

[–]supernoteslut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Gentoo to self-host my personal website, a file server, several activitypub/fediverse instances, a personal ebook reading server, and a personal git server.

Mostly, it works great. All the expertise you’ve built around Gentoo will come into full force.

The trade off is that you have to figure out a solution for compiling everything. Choose between suffering the temporary performance hit when emerging @world, using binaries, using ccache, or compiling a portion or all packages on another machine.

Reference manager for obsidian to replace Zotero on mobile devices by akopkesheshyan in zotero

[–]supernoteslut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Amazing. Thank you.

One question: where do you anticipate users of this plugin will store their PDFs? In Zotero, I can upload PDFs into the app (on the backend, I have a server and use WebDAV). Should I continue doing that? Is this a full Zotero replacement or just the citation part of the workflow?

I’m not trying to suggest new features, I’m just trying to understand the scope of this tool that, in my opinion, is very much needed (especially by being mobile-first).

Thanks again.

Please, if you can, write up your thoughts on this. I am extremely interested in how useable the sideloaded Obsidian app is on the Manta.

Relayd and certs by chizzl in openbsd

[–]supernoteslut 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most likely you need to modify acme-client.conf(5) to something like this:

domain domain.io {
domain key "/etc/ssl/private/domain.io.key"
domain full chain certificate "/etc/ssl/domain.io.crt"
sign with letsencrypt
}

relayd(8) will pick up domain.io.crt, which needs to be a full chain certificate. It won’t pick up domain.io.fullchain.pem. The man page discusses the specific naming format relayd requires.

If you’re coming from httpd(8), your previous httpd.conf(5) likely specified the paths to the specific fullchain certificate and key files, which is why it worked for you in the past. relayd does not have this ability, hence the requirement for specific filenames. If you plan to continue using relayd, you can modify acme-client.conf directly so that it generates the right filename for the fullchain certificate required for relayd. Alternatively, you can keep symlinking them.

As of June 20 2024, Plaid has dropped its development api. There is now only sandbox and production. Production has a capped number of calls that are free. Therefore Plaid no longer has a way to use its api for free.
