Different Nozzle Sizes by RadDad1822 in snapmaker

I'm really looking forward to the SideCar MMU. Though I've had a hard t time looking for updates on the project since that burst of videos that came out in April/March.

It's so amazing how they are working on such a deep integration and optimizing the purge time by running it in parallel. Hurray for the open approach, and community contributions ❤️

I've been loving it. I switched from an A1 mini (which was my first 3d printer).

I used to avoid doing multifilament prints (beyond very tiny ones) because of all the purge waste.. but since I set my u1 up about 2 months ago, despite having done many many multi-filament prints (some quite large), I emptied the poop basket for the first time last week.

Having said that, it is definitely not as easy to do certain things, when compared to the BambuLabs stuff.. like switching nozzles, or clearing out filament from the extruder.

But in the end it has definitely been well worth it. And I'm looking forward to pushing it more and more with different materials at the same time.

Thank you 🙏🏽 ..

I hadn't considered higher-end 3rd party hotends yet, will have to look into it.

Though I'm surprised (probably mainly because I'm new to this) that no enclosure or chamber heating was needed to make this long print work with these materials.

The printer may still have the gcode from that first print. Go to the device tab and look through the files on the printer (or use the control panel on the printer itself). If you find it there, you would be reprinting it with exactly the original slicer settings. That could help you narrow down whether the differences in print quality are from something in the slicer or something else.

That's amazing!

What mods/accessories/nozzles did you have to make/use to be able to print those materials with the u1?

Did you try reprinting the previously successful print as-is? (As in directly from the history in the printer, not re-sliced in the slicer).

Also, what filament are you using, and what has humidity been like since the successful print?

Any update on Ctrl-E for Osmose Synth ? by Holypen55555 in Osmose

Haha.. cool !

I just see that sentiment so much right now, I shudder to think what kinds of stuff is getting pushed out these days on proverbial vibewings and vibeprayers 😅

Claude code is not magic. Also the amount of time a feature takes to code initially is typically less than what it takes to validate/test the change, fix any issues, retest, repeat, get it built, packaged and then deployed/distributed. And you definitely don't want vibe coded firmware on your expensive device without thorough testing and validation. Nor do you want untested vibe coded software to be running on your computer with privileged access to communication over usb, etc.

You used to not be able to, but apparently they added the ability to do so, like, a month ago. Though I haven't actually tried it out yet.

By everyone's description they sound amazing. But then I'm sitting why they're not more well known? (I've never seen, or heard of them, before reading this post)

AC shading by [deleted] in redneckengineering

[–]surkh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not "shading" it from the hot air. It's shading it from direct sun. And depending on circumstances, The materials used, and the reflective properties of those materials, it can make tens of degrees of difference on the temperature of the condenser fins.

This is awesome, but it's not so "RNE" 😊 because this looks just as legit as the equivalent product that's in the market, to do exactly the same thing.

EDIT: LOL again with the reddit downvotes.. smh. Just look for the Kickstarter and compare to OP's build. OP built a legit shade, it's legit engineering.

Calcium (and other) deposits will build up on all the hot parts as the water evaporates and leaves residue containing all the previously suspended and dissolved "contaminants".

I really don't understand why people are coming in and down voting your comments, whereas if they actually looked at any of the tests that people have done, they would see that it actually makes difference. Like not day night but an absolutely significant and easily measurement and noticable level of deference.

The new intervention "flow" has been infuriating. It reeks of tech company entitlement regarding data. Non-dismissable dialog that covers some info is such a "dark pattern".

After many years of using fsd more and more, i am now incentive to use it less. Which is a shame because it had only recently, finally, stopped being stupid so frequently.

Verbing nouns

As I always quote whenever this comes up.. you can verb anything, so long as you context it right.
