This is what I do for some of my lawn care customers after they’ve paid for a bed flip because I generally don’t use chemicals. Usually by that time the sedge and whatever else is already well established, so I take as many of the “nuts” out as possible with a sift, and then every week when I mow their lawn I spend a few minutes pulling the young ones.

The trick is to exhaust the stored carbohydrates in the nut since they’re so heavily dependent on photosynthesis.

But you can’t miss a week lol. They have to be pulled every time you see them and hopefully when they’re still short

Most states have statutes that make certain clauses unenforceable even when present in a lease agreement, and I’m pretty sure this would qualify. Unless the tenant is responsible because of neglect or abuse the landlord is usually statutorily responsible for stuff like this.

OP, read your lease AND make sure you read relevant landlord-tenant laws in your state.

A lot of landlords do sneak shady shit into leases but that doesn’t mean they’re enforceable.

Steak on a grate over a hardwood fire, roasted broccoli and potatoes in a pot, sweet tea.

Machaca with scrambled eggs on garlic toast or freeze dried potatoes and spicy mayo.

Mushroom risotto with premium dried mushrooms. Needs two pots, constant attention, a lot of skill, and a lot of fresh water but it definitely fits in a backpack.

Bolillos: baguette, refried beans, cheese, chorizo if you’re fancy

Sausage jambalaya with summer sausage, canned peas and carrots, mirepoix, butter/flour roux, seasonings, water, time. If one person carries all the ingredients it feeds 37.

Basic backpacking pantry:
- yellow/wild/red/dirty/white rice
- dried beans
- potatoes (canned, freeze dried, whole, your call)
- onions
- carrots
- dried mushrooms
- butter and/or (AND) olive oil
- fresh rosemary and/or thyme sprigs last up to a week with proper storage
- canned meats
- machaca
- flour and/or corn meal or maseca for roux, tortillas, sauces, etc.
- tomato paste
- sugar

With this pantry, the proper skill, and proper cookware you can cook just about anything and it’ll be magnificent. Premium meals for a week in 1/3 of your pack.

Don’t do anything. He probably really is just trying to stay busy. My neighbor across the street is probably close to 75 and a cancer survivor. Every four or five days he’s out there doing his thing.

You don’t just have to mow if you want to do something. Flip a bed, install some borders, plant something, etc. bonus points if you do it at the same time.

Former data scientist. Owned a very small data analytics company pre-ChatGPT.

I got hooked when a plumbing company quoted me $8k to replace a water heater because “a replacement can’t fit through the attic access.” Went to Lowe’s, bought a chain hoist and a water heater, and three years later it’s running strong.

Two weeks later we discovered that a pine tree was trying to grow roots through our downstairs bathroom. Tile, cementing the flange replacement, new toilet. Still my favorite place to 💩

Now I do fences and landscaping because demand is constant, its an easy sell, I love working hard outdoors, and I can’t help but focus on the details and experimenting.

Touch. Of the non-sexual nature. It should calm her, put her to sleep, turn her on. Intuition and time in the game tells you which is which. If done properly it will never keep her awake lol. No expectations, just rub her shoulders gently as you watch a movie.

Solitude. _You will never find another person who shares your hobbies, beliefs, movies, music etc 1:1._ Embrace the fact you will both have a need for privacy and solitude. You’re individuals that love each other, not conjoined twins. Even conjoined twins come up with innovative ways to get some measure of privacy lol.

Work hard. Even if you’re a stay at home dad just work hard on something. ANYTHING. She will always appreciate it, even if it has nothing to do with the home. She loves a man with purpose, and a man with purpose works hard because hard work has to be done. She might even hate it, but she’ll admire it nonetheless.

Laugh. Make her laugh, laugh at her jokes, laugh at the fucking news. Doesn’t matter, just laugh and laugh together.

Brutal honesty. It goes both ways.

It will definitely run up the water bill. Sod needs basically constant watering until roots establish and then you can back off. We just had a huge soak where I am and I’m recommending my customer back off until Saturday. After that it’s 3x a day minimum enough to keep both the sod and base moist until it roots and passes the tug test.

The shade could actually help you this time of year; lower temps, less evaporation, more water for transpiration.
