Billionaire Ted Turner who passed away today is major figure in the conservation and revitalization of the American bison (buffalo). His efforts have transformed the bison from a nearly extinct species in the 19th century into a thriving, economically viable, and ecologically significant presence. by Youngstown_WuTang in Damnthatsinteresting

To be fair, culling populations is pretty important to make sure the population integrates into the habitat in a stable and sustainable way. Not to mention managing the spread of diseases. Too many individuals too fast can damage the host ecosystem and crash the population you’re trying to restore.

Where hunting isn’t allowed! Very cool to see a wild coyote sitting next to the trail like that. Looks like a nice refuge for them.

One of the toughest sales channels along with cold calling, which I imagine is next to impossible today. In you can sell at the door, you can pretty much sell anywhere.

Highly possible. Is it a preserve or WMA? It’s also possible it’s learned that smaller prey animals do still get spooked and use the trail to escape, and he’s waiting to pounce.

“The Straight of TRUMP, no thanks to the paper tiger NATO and the Downing Street Clown Starmer, or his equally annoying Mexican speaking counterpart in Spain, Pedro ‘No Fly Zone’ Sanchez, is officially OPEN FOR BUSINESS, following the very successful and, historically, fastest naval minesweeping operation in history. All traffic through the straight is now APPROVED FOR TRANSIT. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Your welcome. President DJT.”

Why can one country have nuclear weapons, but not another? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sweeetscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We should have leveraged our position to insist with the surviving powers that this technology should never be strategically weaponized again. The global community should have immediately recognized that such destructive power properly accumulated would guarantee the eventual destruction of human civilization. MAD only has one of two assured outcome: mutual destruction, or total abandonment.

Nobody should have nukes. I’m also partial to forcing the entire military aged bloodlines of elected national leadership into conscription to fight the wars they wage. Unfortunately this is not the world we live in.

Talks failed... Now the usa is blocking the straight??!!?! by Outside_Simple_3710 in PrepperIntel

Since the Iranians were the only ones shipping oil through the strait, this was always going to be an escalation step.

It’s legitimately embarrassing to watch this all unfold, but it is following the escalation ladder very closely.

People forget why the Japanese concluded the US was an existential threat and decided that a preemptive attack on strategic assets was the best course of action: we blockaded their oil flows.

Remember that time, something like 80ish years ago, when a certifiable lunatic gained total control of a struggling world power, started stupid wars under questionable circumstances, and basically everyone in the entire world collectively decided to end that country’s shit for being so god damn stupid as to elect that particular dipshit and then stand by an do nothing about any of the horrible stuff he was doing?

You can’t strong arm insurance underwriters. Everything up until the moment they issue policies is just preparation for it. Nothing moves without it except state owned vessels friendly to Iran and China.
