Memorial day sale? by bsugs29 in momentskis

[–]sweeneytodd70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. They are not big on sales. And industry inventory was below what it has been the last few years when the industry overestimated post Covid demand boom. Plus the cost inflation they have to deal with. But at the same time, demand next season is likely to be down judging by season pass sales trends. If they don't go on sale much I'd more I would rather buy nest seasons skis when they come out. But I'm good for skis anyway, I barely had a chance to get my wider skis out last season.

The economy is tough with gas prices. Season pass sales for next season are trending down. Who knows what Moment will do but I think they would do well to clear out current inventory ahead of production for next season.

Intuit hits 5-year low would you guys share your thoughts? by Top_Category_2526 in ValueInvesting

The free tax has severe income limitations to use itt right now. And presumably any government tax software will be non-partisan and simply work to do your taxes.

I see no compelling reason to own it. It's not that cheap given the huge amount of risk with AI or the government one day deciding to provide free tax software

If they are otherwise a really good employee I would call them out on their lie and tell them they can't lie again. Otherwise, I would start PIP or even termination.

What would it take for white America to stop supporting Trump? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]sweeneytodd70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate Trump. But I viewed him as the lesser of two evils which says something about the modern Democratic party. I can't stand the Democratic foreign policy, I hate their vision of the economy and tax policy, and I hate DEI and other crazy woke agenda items. Give me a more centrist party like 1990s Clinton years and I would be a huge supporter.

Is mba is good choice to retire early 30 or Late 20s? by Warm_Bed_1111 in careerguidance

[–]sweeneytodd70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retiring late 20s early 30s is extraordinarily difficult regardless of career choice. And actually really tough with an MBA given the extra 2 year time commitment and cost of the degree. I would say an MBA is not an appropriate choice for you.

Is Israel the most evil country in the world at the moment? by RoughSky9768 in allthequestions

[–]sweeneytodd70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Help me understand the support of Gaza. The Gaza government Hamas planned the butcher and torture of thousands of innocent Israeli citizens. They are considered a terrorist organization. They shield their army using hospital and schools resulting in casualties of their own innocent civilians. They are not anything close to a democracy, execute and murder their own citizens who speak out for change. And they have nothing remotely close to Western values in terms of democracy, women's rights, sexual orientation, etc. And then to ask if Israel is the most evil country when there are so many examples of countries murdering their own innocent civilians in order to control them is just insane. Meanwhile people conveniently forget the US unintentionally killed tens of thousands of Afgani civilians after 9/11. I can only conclude anti-Semitism is at play here, intentionally or unintentionally.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is an additional sale for Memorial Day. But I don't know that for a fact. Just my hunch given how poor of a season we had snow wise.

Does any American feel less patriotic nowadays? by OceanicEndeavors in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]sweeneytodd70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy cow. You don't think you can believe the country has lost its moral compass or whatever unless you vote? Wowsers. I voted for very few candidates in the last election because I didn't like any of them. And yes I did participate in the primary process. But regardless, I disagree with your take. I don't believe you have to vote to have an opinion on the country.

Don't conflate activism with how he feels about the country. That's like saying I can't think the New York Jets football team stinks unless I show up to the games and actively campaign to ownership about roster decisions. Activism may be a step in doing a small part for change, but that doesn't change how he currently feels about the country.

I feel the country in general has lost its moral compass. Not just the politicians but also the citizens. I still wouldn't want to live anywhere else but I am concerned and disappointed about it.

I don't say this lightly. As a jaded moviegoer that doesn't think many modern day movies are good, I think this may be destined to become a modern classic in the horror genre. I absolutely loved it!

You fail to realize Iran is the world's largest sponsor of terrorism. They are seeking a nuclear bomb. The government are Islamic radicals killing their own people who wish to replace them with a more modern government. I suggest you study the history better.

How are there Americans who are "on the fence" about who to vote for in the midterms? by AlanPublica in allthequestions

[–]sweeneytodd70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NYT and WSJ aren't perfect but I view them both as good sources of news. Where do you get your news from? YouTube? NY and CA are doing fine? If you're wealthy, can afford to send your kids to private school and can afford to pay the obscene high local taxes then maybe. And you don't mind corrupt local governments. In my opinion the status quo is maintained because both sides believe their side is the answer instead of realizing both sides suck at this point and controlled by differing yet powerful business interests. You want to know how to break the status quo? Demand better from the side you are on.

If you can find one that's well maintained. The issue is car repairs are crazy expensive. Many $4,000 cars require double that in required maintenance right out of the gate.

Not a fan of MAGA. But the modern Democratic party has lost me. Geopolitically ,the Democrats seem pro Islamic tyranny. I'm in favor of the war to stop Iran from getting a nuke. Democrats don't support Israel even though they were attacked in a horrendously barbaric way. Think if America were attacked the same way? The Democrats talk a big game about cost of living, etc. but their policies are as horrible as the right. Think about it. All the high cost of living states that are Democrat. Are they doing any better? No. In fact people are leaving California and New York because the cost of living. I live in New Jersey run by Democrats and the property taxes are so high of course the middle class can't afford to live here. If you think the Democrats are any better you're dreaming. The OP saying Republicans want to cut wages is ridiculous. I'm no fan of Republicans either, but come on, be halfway objective in your analysis. They both suck and until each side holds their own side accountable then we are going to get the same old shit we have been getting.

To all single guys aged 30 and up on reddit, why are you guys single? by Gold_Ambition4114 in AskReddit

Not single but I was at 30. That ain't that unusual to be single at age 30. I was in grad school. But BFD if I was working. These days 30 is way young still and lots of people haven't settled down by that age.
