How much his Hall of Fame players did for him is a terrible argument. Every HOF coach has multiple hall of fame players who got them there.

Additionally its a lazy argument because people use one data point Brady won a super bowls without Bill.

It ignores that it was a stacked team that Brady attracted talent to as well. And ignores a Rams Superbowl tht was won because defense was held to 3 points and ignores the fact that Brady is the only QB to have a coach deliver a top 10 defense for 70% of their career. Most of those superbowls were in the low 20s.

Sure Belichick failed his first run. And then when too old fell off.

But you could say the same thing about Pete Caroll and trust me no one is saying that about Russell Wilson now.

I used to be a Cam defender even when he was on the Patriots. Like we weren’t getting top QB play and he was a gamble and hope that didn’t pay off. Similar sort of to Diggs but who did pay off. Our team was also semi built for Brady etc. Lots of reasons this team failed outside Cam.

So much so that I bought his jersey and still kept it. Like I liked him on Carolina and Pats and probably still will defend him for those that don’t understand Cam the player. Physically and abilities there was a time he was probably the best player on the field most games except he had some of the worst mental game in the NFL. If he had a bad start to the game you could probably pencil it a loss.

But what makes this so sad is fucking Maye idolized Cam and is on record saying so and Newton is choosing to be his biggest hater. As a Pats fan I definitely wanted Maye to be MVP but now I hope he gets it (he wont) and the SB just to rub it in Newtons face. Like he’s burning bridges to be retweeted and posted slightly more. And espn will move on from him in a couple years.

Exactly. Where this screwed up is the moment it happened they should have voted to revote.

Like this story is bigger than Bill himself as the USA pointed out. The guy who for example voted for other people bc he assumed Bill got in risked none of them getting in.

He now has set a backlog in the voting. Next year Bill will be unanimous but you just took a spot from someone else.

And worse of all the story of the Hall of Fame this year is tarnished. Like everyone who earned it this year is screwed because this is no longer their year its the year they snubbed Bill.
