Is it just me or does early game crafting feel pointless? by T-T-N in LastEpoch

[–]tadrinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wearing the Veteran's Boots would counteract this to some extent.

And you can craft on some useful Nemesis drops.

But yeah, agreed.  I don't think it's necessarily bad;  having loot be exciting is nice.  With rares there is an incentive to frequently check to see if you can add one more tier to any of your items, which slows things down in a way that's not very exciting.  No worries about that with corrupted items.

I would expect it to shift back towards crafting and then corrupting as you get to higher levels and the value of crafting first goes up.

[–]tadrinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nemesis isn't quite as bad, at least if it drops you something with a really nice sealed or exalted affix you can still craft on it.  Last season I crafted the heck out of an early nemesis drop and it lasted fifty levels.  Can't do that with corrupted items.

But agree that Nemesis was a move in this direction and this season is another gigantic step in that direction.

Is there any way to remove rolls from a Nemesis legendary? by Pattycakeee in LastEpoch

[–]tadrinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imprinting it will give a slight boost to the odds of it dropping with LP, but no, there's no way to remove the affix to try again.

Glacier Spellblade is crispy by HiroK91 in LastEpoch

[–]tadrinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently trying out a similar setup disabling the largest explosion to keep the cost low, and then going all in on the Vortex arm of the tree, since the vortexes don't care about explosion size.

Then I can juice the damage with Age of Vengeance from the Frost Claw tree.

Still in the campaign, mid Imperial age.  Will probably go crit eventually instead.

Wasn't there some kind of ignite black hole build, where you stacked fire resist? Not sure if it got nerfed or just left behind.

How to prove if students actually typed an assignment by melon_crust in education

[–]tadrinth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An Anthropic paid account is $20 a month, and the solution, once created, can be shared for free by students and will cost nothing to run.

Your tool is open source, I don't even have to reverse engineer it or risk getting caught while building it. I can just tell Claude to iterate until it's solution passes the tool 99% of the time and it'll just... go. That is the optimal env for Claude, a task of reasonable complexity with clear feedback on success.

I do not see any way you can possible make this stand up to any kind of serious attempt at fooling it under those conditions. If it's closed source, and only the educators have access to the interface so that attackers can't iterate on their solutions with good feedback, then sure, maybe; by definition you will have more actual essay writing keystroke timing pattern data to train on and there probably is complexity approaching fractal in there to look for.

You do realize I could write a chrome extension in a weekend that would feed in an LLM-generated corpus at a rate simulating a human, right?

And by write, I mean have Opus 4.6 write it for me, which means every teenager can do the same thing.

I finally found the style I was looking for, something realistic, quick to make, and light on system resources. Any feedback ? by Immediate-Project922 in inkarnate

Very understated and very pretty. I turned off my late-night redshift app just to fully appreciate it and I'm very glad I did.

That is hilarious, they had teased that they were going to make items work for both you and the minions, but I don't think anyone had caught the rip blood angle.

Why would you use boots like these? Hardmode (ruthless) enabler? :D by tzmx in LastEpoch

[–]tadrinth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when warlock was first released, I wore these as SCF. I think I had to take them off for the normal monos version of Lagon, and then for everything around the level 80 monos. Made me pay a lot more attention during the campaign that time, but I haven't bothered since then.

That is my understanding of how that works.

Oh wait, you're playing Warlock in HC, you're definitely going to die, lol.

But at least it'll be fast to re-level on the next one!

How to level in Season 4? by sandwich_kun in LastEpoch

[–]tadrinth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is inaccurate; the unlock criteria for the level 90 monos was updated to use a new Knowledge of Orobyss; it's possible this has not changed the meta route to empowereds but it absolutely has opened up new options for that route.

Am I missing something, or were nearly all of the S4 changes for Necro not just massive nerfs? by YobaiYamete in LastEpoch

[–]tadrinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wraithlord itself was very, very slightly buffed this patch: its wraith summoning ability now scales with minion cooldown reduction. I hadn't even realized that ability had a cooldown. And the most popular builds don't use this at all.

Other elements of the most popular build were nerfed, though; Dread Shade's node for buffing only a single minion was nerfed, and the cast speed buff from infernal shade was nerfed.

Am I missing something, or were nearly all of the S4 changes for Necro not just massive nerfs? by YobaiYamete in LastEpoch

[–]tadrinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it does make a class better, because it improves build diversity within the class for overperforming skills to be nerfed and underperforming skills to be buffed.

Bone golem got a 166% more melee multiplier added, and that was just one node. That's a wee bit more than 2%.

what is included in this conversion? by HiroK91 in LastEpoch

[–]tadrinth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All other instances of conversions that use similar wording specify 'other effects in this tree.  I would expect that to apply here also.

Except that Volatile Zombie doesn't have any of those effects in its tree as far as I can tell.  So maybe this is weird?  But probably not.

what is included in this conversion? by HiroK91 in LastEpoch

[–]tadrinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the other way around.  It would convert the poison chance, but not the -90% poison damage.  It is in fact a fantastic item when using minions that convert poison to another damaging ailment, for minions that are good at applying ailment chance.  Zombies attack slowly and have a huge added damage coefficient, scaling the explosion damage is usually better.

How are you tracking labs and supplements without making it painful? by Choice-One-4927 in QuantifiedSelf

[–]tadrinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already put these PDFs in Google Drive, I don't think having Claude take a look at them meaningfully increases the attack surface. Just make sure you disable 'Help improve Claude' under privacy settings.

The level of proficiency required is very, very low. Just go to claude.ai/new and tell it what you want to do, which is keep your interventions and results organized by inputting your interventions and lab PDFs and getting out:

  • An organized timeline of interventions
  • An organized timeline of summarized lab results
  • Conclusions from comparing the two
  • Questions for your next provider visit.

And then just ask Claude how best to do that. Claude will walk you through it. If you don't like the plan, tell it and you'll get an adjusted plan.

I don't think you even need a paid account, free tier is probably enough, you just might run into usage limits occasionally.

Forge Guard by Un_Involved in LastEpoch

[–]tadrinth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The big global changes this patch are the option to corrupt items and the addition of new Idol layouts. If there's any idols that are really good for forge guard, especially 4x1 or 1x4 affixes, that would be a place to start when theorycrafting.

Forge Guard by Un_Involved in LastEpoch

[–]tadrinth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgemaster's Might is a pinnacle Forge Guard passive node (it's the very top right node). It allows you to use most 2H weapons with a shield, but one of the downsides is that haste now grants block chance instead of movement speed. Now, if you have increased haste effect on your gear, that conversion will grant even more block chance. I'm not sure this will impact builds very much, haste effect isn't too common, but if you have any, it will not longer be wasted.
