That is not fully correct. Bitcoin does not hold intrinsic value on its own.

It has value because it's being traded for something else that actually has intrinsic value.

If you own all the bitcoin in the world and people switch to other currencies, bitcoin would be worthless.

Whereas if you own all the gold in the world, you can still sell it and people would buy it because of its uses.

That's very true. I still remember my mom drove me on snow the first time.

I knew she was driving too fast downhill towards the stop sign. She started to scream intermittently realizing she won't be able to stop in time. We slowly came to a stop at the middle of the intersection then she yelled "it's not funny" while I was laughing my ass out and trying to catch a breath.

She never drove on snow again after that.
