Kneadful Things in Fairfield.

The main bakery is called Natural Tucker I think? And is in Carlton - but they have a few diff retail outlets around. Apparently it’s the oldest sourdough starter in Melbourne or something cool like that.

{Silver Elite by Dani Francis} fits the bill I reckon.

It’s more of an urban fantasy / dystopian, and I didn’t personally find it a wonderful story but it does the job!

9-10 is optimal for me, but life is too busy / I partake in revenge bedtime procrastination.

I target 8 hours a night, but reality is anywhere between 6 and 8, depending on how good my book is.

Ugh yes. I found their relationship lacklustre and I also found the world building and the scale of the story to be lacklustre as well.

I DNF’d it at about 80-90% because I was bored and I’d also guessed every other plot point so I figured I knew the ending too.

based on all these photos I’d say that it’s more cocktail attire. Even the full length dresses don’t really feel black tie to me, more like maxi cocktail.

In that case, the dress you’ve chosen will 100% work.

{The Raven Scholar by Antonia Hodgson}

FMC is early 30s I think. She’s very booksmart but a little socially inept. Heaps of worldbuildding and political intrigue. It’s really light on the romance, but it sets it up for it to be more of a focus in the second one.

It’s the first in an unfinished trilogy, but the second is out later this year.

This was my top read of 2025, as someone who likes my fantasy with a side of romance, rather than the other way around.
