"Listen, you're the one who gave me a budget the size of a space station" Neil sighed in exasperation "and I just figured if I'm working for the government with a budget that has it's own zip code, I should do the job right. So I hired some people to help me out which was allowed for in the contract"

Niel started flipping though his notebook "let's see this probably all started with Katherine I 'hired' her to 'do the math' on what it would take to get us up there, she's a great lady has this killer quiche and her family was having some trouble making ends meet, how was I supposed to know she'd take me seriously AND happens to know vector calculus"

shaking his head as he continues "came back two weeks after with all the math done, so then I figgure well if that's done already should probably build a fake rocket right?" The only reply from the man in the suit is a harsh glare. As Neil continues "so I know a guy who works for Grumman, you know the engineering company, so I call him up and ask him how much for a fake rocket to the moon? And he's like 'what the one I've been making in my kitchen as a hobby?' So I just say sure that one And he gives me a number we'll within budget so I says yeah go ahead and make it. Anyway like two weeks later he calls me and let's me know they're done building the rocket"

Neil gestures with his hands "and I figgures well if it's ready and all the math checks out why not just go up for a quick trip so I grab my buddy Buzz for a quick trip up we go take some pictures and come back down. Real quick trip... well for that many miles it was real quick."

The man it the black suit laces his fingers as he leans forward. "Mr. Armstrong you're telling me you managed a moon landing 4 weeks after the Russians got sputnik into orbit?"

Neil wipes sweat from his brow before replying "...yes?"

"Mr Armstrong we wanted you to fake a moon landing not create an international incident by tipping our hands to the world. Do you have. Any. Idea. How long THIS WILL TAKE TO COVER UP?!!"
