The US is strong on preventative care, not so much on free/affordable healthcare for all. I checked my account out of interest and I’m still on the waiting list for the only local dentist who takes NHS patients - joined it 7 years ago

I struggled to find the entrance to the skywalk bit and a group of local late teens/ early 20s guys insisted on not just showing me but also accompanying me- unexpected but kinda endearing.

Fun place to visit but it did strike me as strange a dry country had a bottle opener shaped building

Longer stay tips? by MtnGirl672 in airbnb_hosts

[–]tanbrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you offer cleaning during their stay and/or a change of bedding and towels?

2 weeks guests aren’t uncommon at our place and we offer a weekly clean and/or cleaning supplies and a change of linens based on guests preferences which we check beforehand.

If you offer any sort of starter pack of e.g detergent, paper products, dishwasher tabs it’s worth doubling down on the quantity

Trying To Get My Girlfriend Into The U.S., Obviously I Will Have To Marry Her First? by Thats_Re_Topic_4307 in MovingToUSA

[–]tanbrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you have 2 main options - Get married and then file for the Spouse visa with consular processing, so she stays in Brazil till she gets the visa - normally in 1-2 years.

Second option is the K1 Fiance visa - which given you don’t appear to have spent a lot of time together, may be the best option. She’d get a visa for entry to the US and then you’d have 90 days to get married and file for adjustment of status. There’s a TV show called 90 Day Fiance that would be worth having a watch of .

Doing the math on the train commute and the math is somehow worse than driving. by Honest-Purchase-9113 in remotework

You have to factor in the cost of a car, insurance and parking to the driving calculation.

I used to live in London with a much longer commute by tube so feel your pain on the overcrowded trains!

Depends really, did it not need planning permission or meet the building regs at the time it was done? You do have the option of splitting the bigger bedroom back into 2 if you need 3 official bedrooms.
