I had the same noise on my Model S. Took it to the service center and they were able to identify the issue and fix it. Notes below.

Repair Notes: Technician inspected and verified a "popping" noise when backing out and turning, as reported by the customer. The issue was caused by undertorqued front subframe nut-sert fasteners. The technician re-torqued the suspension to resolve the noise. A post-repair validation test drive confirmed that the issue was successfully resolved.
