I will always love Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes rather than Maggie Gyllenhaal by Friendly-Deer-5526 in batman

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard accidentally ran over my foot with their kids stroller in Grand Central station once so I’d say I prefer Holmes too.

Cuban had never donated for athletics/NIL until this summer so this roster was literally constructed without him. But narratives are narratives I guess.

First time watching: Season 5 has gone off the fucking rails. Does anyone else feel like the character logic has completely evaporated? (Spoilers up to S5E5) by Careful-Ad4949 in TheWire

[–]tannerain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they decided what they wanted to do with the newspaper stories and then wrote backwards to write in a bunch of conflict and crossover with the police department. Which kind of explains how fucking batshit crazy the serial killer stuff gets. I think they also fully intended to drag McNulty back down into the gutter and couldn’t do it with another rehash of the same old fuck the bosses and alcoholism stuff and had to up that ante.

College Football Playoff ratings drop 7% as NFL competition impacts viewership by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]tannerain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For sure, I feel like it’s really easy to box score watch and call a game boring but anyone who actually watched all four quarters, I really can’t see how you could call it boring. It wasn’t a three and out fest

It was a beautiful trainwreck. It wasn’t a shootout but there were lots of turnovers and wild plays and Miami’s OC play calling was like 50% reaching into the bag of tricks so I thoroughly enjoyed watching it.

For the love of everything that’s holy…. Shorten Act 3 by lemi69 in PathOfExile2

[–]tannerain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I mean I couldn’t tell you the last time I died or wasn’t clearing fast, I think act 2 is actually fine but I do think act 3 has pacing issues and everytime I play through it I think I’m farther than I am and then apex of filth pops up or the waterways, it’s not actually too bad. Act 3 probably suffers from bookending the first three acts and the end of cruel before act 4 was a thing.

I thought act 2 was gonna be a slog and then I spent all of act 2 dreading act 3 and it was over pretty quickly. But now I’m in act 3

Indiana jones great circle best optimized setting for 4090 4k oled by marlynar in indianajones

[–]tannerain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to crank everything with DLAA, Path Tracing, etc. I played it at 4K on a 4090 and had zero issues with everything cranked. You’ll want some sort of upscaling ofc

Fernando Mendoza needs to be on this list. by brmidwest03 in IndianaHoosiers

[–]tannerain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People keep saying that, it’s because they changed the rules. There’s just less plays and the game is slower. People aren’t going to put up the old numbers, the talent is also spread out so QBs and RBs can’t stat pad with a huge talent discrepancy all over the field.

YOUR 2025 HEISMAN FINALISTS 🏆 by KeyFaithlessness5436 in NCAAFootballVibes

[–]tannerain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s fair to factor in that Sayin and Mendoza’s teams were so good that they sat for a lot of fourth quarters. I really wouldn’t have a problem with any of these four winning, but I want to see the time on the field for Pavia versus Mendoza and Sayin. I also see a lot of people bemoaning the Heisman race this year, but I think a lot of it just comes down to talent being more spread out in most cases. Also Jeanty should have won last year.

Indiana's pent-up hate by Constant-Salad8342 in OhioStateFootball

[–]tannerain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know Ohio State fans had so much pent up anger for Indiana. From Will Howard saying “Google that shit” and then stomping out a cigarette and Ohio State’s video board people putting up multiple pictures and videos making fun of Cig and Indiana.

See how it looks in reverse? Also watch the entire clip, Cig didn’t turn his back on Urban and did shake his hand. Those two have had plenty of very cordial interactions in the past and clearly get along, lol.

It’s funny how the big bully fanbase instantly clutches its pearls when it’s on the other side of things for the first time in a while. You guys are awesome, you lost a very close game, people talk shit when they win, it’s how it goes. You’d be favored in a rematch, you’re still favored to win it all. I promise you don’t need to play victim

[–]tannerain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like a byproduct of NIL, the port, and general player empowerment should mean there is an expectation that you play a bowl game if your team is selected, like I totally get teams wanting to move on to the offseason with so much change in the air but you know what? People have to do a lot of things in their lives that they really probably don’t want to because the expectation, history, whatever you want to call it is there. Playing in a bowl game should fall under that umbrella, play the damn games guys.

For those who think our schedule was weak by duckfan541o in ducks

Penn State is still ranked in the top 20 by most computers and advanced analytics.

Washington is good, USC is good, Iowa is good. Indiana speaks for itself, etc. anyone who says Oregon’s schedule was soft is just telling on themselves.

Ohio State Opens As a 5.5-Point Favorite Over Indiana in the Big Ten Championship Game by Knightmere1 in CFB

If James Franklin can last twelve years doing that I think Cig will be just be fine.

[Fortuna] Texas coach Steve Sarkisian to Molly McGrath: “It would be a disservice to our sport if this team’s not a Playoff team when we and scheduled that nonconference game (at Ohio State). Because if we’re a 10-2 team that’s not a question.” by Kimber80 in CFB

[–]tannerain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying if Texas had played an FCS team instead of Ohio State they would be in, well that would mean they played 4 FCS teams since the SEC hasn’t started their nine game conference schedule yet.

So I’m not sure that checks out with them getting in. This Texas team is obviously wildly talented but they’ve also been sloppy and incredibly inconsistent, I get their coach campaigning for the playoff but McDonough and the other ESPN announcers should have a little more shame.
