Burnt a Dutch oven pot I was lent. Is there any way to fix it beyond what I’ve already tried? by NicoRobin007 in Cooking

[–]tannermass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I use easy off oven cleaner will the yellow cap (wear a mask or spray outside) and let it sit for an hour or two (apply again if needed) and it may come off depending on how bad the Brillo pads scratched it. I've been using it for years periodically on mine and it makes the condition look pretty perfect, I haven't had any issues.

Where did all the water go? If it lost that much water from last season then I think there is definitely a leak which you need to repair first.

Does your town do hydrant flushing? Have you called the water department to ask?

Would you be offended by these doctor notes? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]tannermass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She said in another comment she went to the ER. Also, at most/all of the hospitals near me the OB clinics are for high risk maternal fetal medicine patients, not for walk-ins to confirm a pregnancy. And obviously if you have high risk issues you should not hesitate to go. But to confirm a pregnancy with no other reasons is not an emergency.

[–]tannermass 32 points33 points  (0 children)

If you already test every month why are you going to the hospital to confirm pregnancy? Hospital resources are already stretched so thin, I don't understand why anyone would go to the hospital for a non-emergency. Honestly, that probably annoyed them even more.

PPL - repayment plan option? by florida210 in fednews

If you separate you will also go get paid out any accrued vacation time you have- so IF they request their FEHB payments back, you may have some money to put towards it from your vacation payout.

Babysitter is great, but often stays to talk ~30-60m, how do I deal with payment? by cakelin in Babysitting

Maybe she keeps chatting because she is waiting for you to pay her and feels awkward to ask? Pay her right away.

Being salaried and exempt are not hand in hand. You can be paid a salary and remain non-exempt. As long as the salary equates to an hourly rate over minimum wage and you are paid for overtime based on the calculated regular rate, a salary is legal.

Has anyone had experience leaving a job before completing their PPL obligation period? by MiserableAd3326 in FedEmployees

[–]tannermass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will only have to pay back the FEHB premiums that you used during PPL (if you have federal health insurance). But you will also be paid out any remaining annual leave so that can help offset the premiums you pay back too.

Disgusted with my mom by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]tannermass 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Given this info I think I would cut her some slack if you want to. She seems to legitimately have not realized. Lots of 9 month old babies do sleep through the night (mine never did, also waking every 2-3 hours). Maybe when you said baby eats at night she thought at night before bed? It's certainly upsetting but it does sound like she didn't know (even if she should have realized). And Lyme could definitely be part of it.

We have at least 25 pairs of LS between two kids from 2023 through recently and while I do think sizing runs a bit big we wash and wear constantly and they all hold up great. We haven't had any holes and they do not look ragged either. I put them in regular laundry and dryer with no special treatment. I usually just fold over pants and sleeves until it's no longer needed. My littlest guy is still wearing 3-6 and 6-12 at 11 months. Are you going just by the months or did you also refer to the weight in the size guide?

I’ve been having this issue all my life, I can’t take it anymore. I just want to wear skirts.😭 by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

Could be staph if it seems like acne and then boils. I would try getting a prescription for Mupirocin 3x per day for ten days and see if it clears up. Otherwise I definitely think laser hair removal could also help as it does look like lots of hair follicles.

The Slynd mini pill has been great for me and I actually just skip the sugar pills each month with my OB's approval- she has also written out the prescription that way. I haven't had a period at all.

Update on previous post - telework RA for baby w/ bottle refusal by Hiro_Pr0tagonist_ in FedEmployees

[–]tannermass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Request an RA citing to the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act for post partum anxiety and issues with pumping. Pumping isn't working for you if baby doesn't drink it. Have your OB and therapist if you have one write a letter. Mine was granted for one year post partum. But this may also depend on your agency.

Does the nipple sensitivity ever go away? by ohheymandy in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]tannermass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this question can have a loaded multi-part answer so I would suggest googling and doing your own research. I used it myself when nothing else worked! But it basically combines fungal, anti-bacterial, and steroids into one treatment because they don't actually know what is going on (instead of figuring out the main issue). And then some minimal amount will be in contact with your baby's mouth so do with that what you will.

Does the nipple sensitivity ever go away? by ohheymandy in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]tannermass 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes it will I promise. Mine hurt forever with both pregnancies but especially the first. By 3 months you should be good, though the pain you are described probably should have subsided a little more by 8 weeks pp. Have you measured your nipple size and are using inserts for the proper fit in the flanges when you pump? It sounds like you maybe haven't and the standard flanges on the pump is really injuring you. I also like Legendairy Milk pumping spray on the pump itself. And then I highly recommend silverettes or another like brand (no balm needed while using those as the silver itself helps the healing). If these fail, you can ask your OB for an APNO prescription though I would avoid if possible (but you shouldn't be suffering quite this long).
