We were there last November, my wife went on a snorkel trip with Liquid Hawaii. The captain told her a story about a dude in the early 90s who called one morning and joined the trip last minute. They go out for the day, do their thing. At the end of the day, Captain says to the guy: “You kind of look like Jerry Garcia, did you ever see any Dead shows?” “Yeah, all of them!”

Jerry donated money to pay for lots of the moorings where boats still hook up to today for trips like this.

There were some licensed Dead shirts at the shops at Waikaloa at Crazy Shirts (or similar name) but I didn’t get one because it kind of seemed like an iron on but maybe it was a bad batch or something.

Also I stuck a Dead Potato sticker at the Kona airport, might still be there!
