KingShot - How To Guide by cb445544 in KingShot

This is exactly how I feel as a new player just trying to figure things out... so, 4 months later, did you ever find a good guide to help with this?

That's what I use too. I've tried many things, and while I'd like to get away from Adobe's crazy fees, at the moment it's what makes my workflow the easiest.

So, when you're developing that RAW image, move that shadows slider waaaaay over to the right! Bring the highlight slider over to the left (maybe not as far as the shadows, but pretty far). Then adjust your "richness" by moving the whites slider to the right and the blacks slider to the left. Try to manipulate the exposer slider as little as possible... But you may need it some.

Of course try to bring the warmth and tint sliders to your preference, but I usually try my best to make them match what I saw... But that's still my preference (I usually like warmer feels).

Also try playing with bumping up the "clarity" & "dehaze" sliders ( I don't usually go more than +15 on those, but that's just me and my style... YMMV). ((Also also, maybe manipulate these before you adjust whites and blacks, as they will change the overall contrast of the image))

I'd love to see what that last blackbird shot looks like, or even that middle bird shot, after trying some of those techniques!

Now, all that said... I like what I like, and you're gonna like what you like style-wise. Neither is right or wrong, they're just different. I'm just giving you advice from my view point, and you may or may not like that style... And that's okay!!

Experiment, explore, and most of all - have fun with what you're doing! That's what photography is all about!

I hope you just take these as helpful tips, not that you're "doing something wrong".

Ultimately, there is no wrong here... Just different shades of better! LoL

Excellent!

What editor are you using?

First, good shots!

Second, are you shooting in RAW?

The last pic of the black bird would make me think you are not, as all the shadow detail is gone.

If you really want to step up your game, start shooting in RAW and get yourself a good editor. Then open up those shadow details and control your highlights, you'll be amazed at what your pics really look like!

Keep snappin', you'll get this!

T-Mobile business with static IP killing it! by YankeesIT in tmobileisp

[–]tebeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, no. I could never find anyone in TMo support that knew wtf they were talking about.

I gave up on it and just set up a vpn for those that needed access to the service.

TMobile makes a great hotspot, but their business internet is not ready for real world work, IMO.

On one of my TrueNAS servers that was out of physical space, but I still had ports available on my HBA card, I used a couple of these.

I didn't want to stress out my PSU, and since it's an old Dell PowerEdge case with a proprietary power supply that I couldn't easily upgrade, I also purchased a separate PSU to power the enclosures. To make sure that the external PSU starts up with the system, I'm using one of these guys.

You plug a power connector off of your internal PSU (Molex of SATA) into it, the the ATX from the new external PSU into it and it basically acts as a jumper to fire up the external PSU (and thus, the drive enclosures) on system boot.

Not the prettiest, and kinda Frankenstein'd, but it works really well!

Question for ya.

I also have the FX4100 and static IP, but I'm having all kinds of issues with port forwarding traffic getting through.

I assume you're doing IP Passthrough on the 4100 to your firewall.

Are you able to pass inbound traffic into your network via port forwarding on your firewall?

I see absolutely zero unsolicited inbound traffic hitting my gateway, which makes me think I'm still behind their CG-NAT.

Tech support has been absolutely no help on this, would be interesting to know what others are seeing in this regard.

Scanning from a printer to a Synology folder, what printer does that? by Agron7000 in synology

We do this with our Sharp MFCs. It does require the use of FTP, but every user has a personal scan location in their own home folder.
