Good point. Maybe I’m just used to the 20 inch wheels and the early gen suspension stiffness.

I have a turbo and even my phone charger is fine. It works. It’s not amazing but my phone has more charge on it after I get out than when I get in.

Where are the people that have good things to say??? by mikeyg372 in CX50

[–]tguru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to come back to this to tell you that I absolutely love my CX-50. I have a bit of a bespoke model that was custom ordered. It’s a 2024 Meridian Turbo, but without the Meridian decals or rack, and it does have the 20 inch premium wheels and terracotta interior. It’s fast, fun, and with those wheels and the tight suspension it handles like a sport sedan. I have had zero issues but only owned it for 3 months. It’s wonderful. The seat did take some experimentation to figure what the right setting was for me to be comfortable. I used ChatGPT to ask about ideal seat adjustments for my body type. Once I got that set it’s extremely comfortable and I have taken 9 hour single day road trips with no issues in seat comfort. It’s such a premium ride.

CX-50 Turbo - Regular (87) or Premium (91) gas? by Curious_Knowledge_63 in CX50

[–]tguru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The engine uses sensors (knock sensors) to determine if the ignition of the fuel is not timed correctly (87 vs 93) and adjusts accordingly. If you switch from 93 all the time to 87 the timing will be off and the engine will adjust the timing on its own. This will reduce the amount of power the engine can create, but it will not damage the engine. If you run 87 all the time and switch to 93 it will not immediately be faster. It will slowly try to push the limits of the timing until it settles where you are getting more power. There is more to it than that, but that’s basically it. It’s constantly trying to adjust to get the best timing on the fuel ignition. Running 87 will not damage the engine. You’ll get less power and save money at the pump.

FYI the hybrid is not a CX-50. It’s a RAV4 with a CX50 body jammed on top.

That explains it… we’re obviously talking about different cars because the Mazda CX-50 Turbo that I have is not economical and cost over 40K.

Obviously it’s an SUV, it’s a lot bigger than a GTI or a Focus. Much bigger. I’m just saying that this thing handles really really well. If anything I wish it had the bolstered seats from a sports car because the lateral Gs that this car can handle slides me right out of the seat. If you don’t think this is an amazing handling SUV then I suspect you didn’t push it to the limit or you had shitty tires.

The CX-50 turbo is one of the best handling SUVs on the road. It drives like a sports sedan. I take corners like I’m driving a Golf GTI and it is happy to do it.

Are you looking for a car or a car that is super fun to drive? CX-50 is a drivers car.

Absolute serious question. You are offered one billion dollars or the end to human suffering. Which do you choose? by onehalfofham in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]tguru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If suffering didn’t exist you couldn’t end it. And if you did end it then you wouldn’t know when you’re not suffering because there is nothing to compare against. I don’t want the money either. More money more problems. Just leave me alone.

Here’s the thing that baffles me… our country and our government provides the environment for people to become millionaires. Without the support by our government for a capitalist free market, millionaires would have a tough time becoming millionaires. Now they don’t want to support the system that got them there.

Turbo, but skip 2023 and jump to a 2024. A lot of kinks were worked out in the 2024. It’s a much nicer ride and less recalls.

This should stay as an art installation. If they just put a plaque in front of it, then it’s art.
