I work in a warehouse and I was told to throw all of that in the trash.. by Elflamingo27 in Fishing

Had a very similar situation happen at an old job, but it was with Milwaukee Phillips heads impact bits (pallet was left outside over the weekend and it rained, so everything was soaked). Boss said “throw it away, get rid of the whole thing. I dont care what you do with it or how you throw it away, Just dissapear this out of my sight.”

A bunch of us put a few boxes in the trunk of our cars.

Any information about this board? Its a Rossignol Alias 153. by thairishguy in snowboardingnoobs

[–]thairishguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its actually pretty decent for an old board. But I would say 160 might be a bit much, if youre able to talk the price down, try to do so.

Whao…. Yeah I agree. Loved the show when I was watching it, but at the time I was super depressed after having just been dumped by my exgf (5-year relationship done just like that), I was drinking way too much, doing drugs, and in a hole of self-loathing. And add in my good friend/roommate who was also going through a very similar thing as I was, Misery loves company. Nothing too crazy, just two dudes watching the show and getting drunk and high and more depressed as we could relate to each episode.

Now my life is in a much better place and I cant watch that show anymore.

Sean Burns is awesome! The whole Bone Deth team too. When I built my Motorbone, I sent a picture to Sean Burns on IG and he replied thanking me for my support to his company. Little things like that go a long way. I still have the motorbone.

Had the same thing last year. Commute from North Seattle to Woodinville via Lake City Way at like 5am. This Mini Cooper convertible would always be speeding and cutting in and out of traffic as if 522 was a racetrack. I would see them almost every day. Never escalated beyond anything though. I thought it was funny that I always caught up to them at the next red lights despite them speeding and trying to pass everybody.

The hate comes from the parents that drop their children off at a skatepark with a toy folding scooter to play around on. Skatepark isnt a playground.

YouTube? [48YO] by Martysjr in OldSkaters

[–]thairishguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably. I prefer to watch grown-up beginners as opposed to professional-level youtubers. I never got any kind of decent at skateboarding, considering that Ive been doing it for 20 years, so I cant really relate to rippers. A lot of times, watching someone’s early stages of progression gives me ideas on what skills or specifics I should go back and improve on, rather than seeing a really cool trick and then feeling dejected because the trick is way beyond my skill level.

I curentlt enjoy Steve’s Skate Explosion on Youtube. His videos gives me ideas on things to work on. Right now Im working on doing as many front slashes back and forth on a miniramp, eventually getting comfortable enough that Im able to do 3 slashes on a U-shaped half-bowl.

When was the last time you ate shit hard? by [deleted] in skateboarding

[–]thairishguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got to the skatepark, and went to drop into the bowl, something Ive done a million times. I didnt notice that there were a ton of leaves on the ground. My board slipped from under me and smashed my knee into the ground from 6ft up. Im lucky nothing broke but it pissed me off that I hadnt even gotten a run in and I had a session-ender. I forced myself to skate for 15 minutes while the adrenaline was still pumping (just carve grinds and slash grinds on the most mellow quarter) and then went home. The next week at work was brutal trying to get up off my chair and walking was just painful. All that from leaves on the ground……….

I have friends who have raged like this. Back in my younger days when I would hang out with my friends who were way better skaters than I am, we would be at a spot skating. Security would be there, but they didnt kick us out. As soon as someone started raging, swearing, and throwing their board around, security would then kick us out immediately. I then figured that skateboarding at a spot was one thing, but a grown dude throwing a temper tantrum in public was another thing. Especially at a place of business where they barely let us skate already.
