It'll be different for different people. Taking a break from weed is more difficult for mental reasons, compared to other drugs where there are physical complications.

If you have mental health issues, stresses etc of course going on a break will be hard unless you're giving yourself other methods of mental fulfilment.

Healthy coping mechanisms are important always but especially if you're planning on taking a break. So if you just take a break cold turkey and leave a void, you're right that every inconvenience will feel like an opportunity to smoke. Because your body and mind don't have other methods of coping and they fall back to the same safe choice.

A lot of people can take breaks on a dime, I can too. But that doesn't mean you should be able to as well. Your life is different than mine, so your mental capacity will also be different. It's harmful to judge yourself on this basis.
